Dead & Company live debuts?

Dead & Company live debuts?

Question: is it worthwhile to list songs played for the first time as “live debuts”? It doesn't make sense for the first few shows, since everything is by definition a debut (and it would make the setlist cluttered), but it might be informative for subsequent shows as they continue to debut more songs.

“Live debuts” should only be listed on the first show or live appearance that that song is played. For any shows after that, it should be removed. It might make the setlist where a lot of songs are first played look very cluttered but that is Ok, it should not be a frequent occurrence.

So do you agree that we should do this with the Dead & Company setlists?

I am not sure what you are getting at, I thought I had already replied to what you asked. Maybe if you gave a more specific example, I could comment on that.

What I mean is I'm not sure other users will be happy if the first 7-10 setlists get cluttered with “live debut”, so I was asking for opinions before going ahead and doing it. Some might argue that you can get that information by clicking on the song title and navigating to the group/artist's name.

We do it for other artists and it is factually correct, so I don't see why it should be a problem. You could argue that on their very first show, everything was a “Live debut” so it would seem kinda of redundant to list every single song as a “live debut” but afterwards it should be Ok. On that last point, I leave it up to your discretion, I personally would not be inclined to list everything as a “live debut” on that first show for the reason that I laid out, but that's a matter of personal preference.

OK thanks. That logic would apply to the first few shows in this case, until the repeats begin. Perhaps I'll start by only labeling the live debuts after the initial few concerts, which is more informative anyway.
