it may not have started yet, but I bet the opener is the same as last night. Bridges in the Sky seems like a great song to open up with. I'm really more interested to see what the encores are.

i'm not surprised they didn't do a Metropolis tease even because the year I saw them it was for the Systematic Chaos tour and they had 2 different sets of encore melodies. one featured Octavarium and the other featured Metropolis. I got the setlist with Metropolis... if it's just a one SONG encore and they change it out wit a different SONG each night and not a medley, then in my opinion, the fans r screwed for an encore...anybody agree?

I agree only because it is Dream Theater, and the fans expect a lot more from them than the average band. That's exactly why I was surprised that the encore was only one song last night. Even though I love Under a Glass Moon, I have grown to expect DT epics for encores, and a couple of them at that. I will be attending the last show of the North American leg of the tour (Dallas), and I really hope that they give us something special that night.

Well of course it'll b something special...the LAST encore will be Mangini pulling off a face mask & Portnoy will be under the mask and after the last song is played, the 12 Steps Suite tour of 2012 will be announced as promised! ...but then again, that promise was made by the band after the Suite was finished during Black Clouds & Silver Linings... now THAT would be somethin special!

LOL! Now that would be something special! It really is a shame those five songs were never played live back to back. That's okay though, becasue I really like Magini's style and am glad that he's in the band.

Five songs? ....try 12 songs. It's called the 12 step suite & the last of it was finished in Black Clouds & Silver Linings. The band said that once the 'suite' was finished (which has been going on since the late 80's, read Wikipedia about what I'm talkin about) that they'd do an "a night with" tour & play all 12 songs back to back...let's see if that actually happens now...

Oh, I am referring to the 5 songs that are divided up into 12 different parts, from SDOIT to BC&SL. I thought that was all they ever promised to play. On an related note, I saw DT open up for Maiden in Dallas last year on the first show of the tour (Ironic that I will see them on the last show this time), and when they started playing As I Am, for some reason I thought they were starting The Glass Prison and got all excited because I thought they were about to play the 12 Step Suite. I guess becasue both songs start out wthy Myung, I got them confused in my mind for a split second. Anyway, I highly doubt the 12 Step Suite anything that we will ever hear at this point anway....

yeah you're right it wasn't divided into 12 different songs...that was my bad...but we're both on the same page with the 12 steps! Those were the best songs the band had ever written no doubt! ...my only conundrum is how the song "Octavarium" isn't part of the suite! it sums up all the parts into 1 song. I was surprised to learn it wasn't part of the suite but it is what it is....

I just checked on Wiki, and it says that it is only five songs......

Ugh....Why are we not getting better encores?

i gotta say one thing....without a "jam" in there anywhere, i'm really disappointed! and those of you who "take the time" to go onto their fan board, POST!!!! POST about their encore songs and POST about performing a song melody that they haven't done so far...and i highly doubt they will but if the fans rise up then it can and will happen :-)

i meant, MEDLEY instead of "jam"....dammit! i need to get off the computer! i've had one too many shots hahaaaaa! but u still get my point i know u do :-)

I've heard conflicting reports that the last song before encore was Breaking all Illusions, and the encore was Pull Me Under?

Pull Me Under would be a miracle!!! let's wait for confirmation but for now that's AWESOME!!!!!!

I just got back from the show. Before "Caught in a Web" James talked to the audience saying that he went online after the last show and was reading the message boards, comments about the songs being played so far. "So we're going to change it up a bit tonight. Here's something from Awake."

Crowd went nuts.

I can also confirm Pull Me Under. That was amazing. I am SO glad they played Breaking All Illusions, my favorite track off the new album.

WOW!!! what are the chances that they saw our posts!!?!?! that's just too crazy! (but then again, if Mangini knows Pull Me Under down to the last note then that means they must have already practiced it as it is and were ready to play it whenever....

THIS folks is gonna be an interesting tour i can feel it!

My date is Orlando, at Hard Rock Live, October 23, 2011 so I've still got a lot of setlist.fm (ing) statistics to do for myself heh...

I saw DT at the Warfield in San Francisco 9/26/11. DT Rocked and Mangini is a Beast!!!...The Encore was Under a Glass Moon Light. I recorded the song with my Droid. It was the only song they played for the Encore. Surprised they didn't play Panic Attack.

I just saw on the DT website the video of them playing PMU (at this venue), JLB got lost during it and he wasn't sounding so good, I hope they fix before they get to Orlando.
