Removed again. Setlist.fm guidelines say no intro tapes.

Actually the guidelines don't mention intro tapes at all. The important thing is to be consistent. In other words, add the intro tape to EVERY setlist where it was used, or NONE of the setlists.

I believe E5150 is added to every setlist where it was used, so it should be here too.

ravenheart July 28, 2010 2:12:01 PM UTC

Always thought that was a poor standpoint. If something is consistently wrong, then it's wrong. And since the back-end of setlist.fm can only possible be some kind of database platform, writing a query against the back-end to bulk remove/change things that are consistently wrong is not hard at all.

leglessmoof July 28, 2010 2:22:23 PM UTC

The guidelines don't say that it's right or wrong. If it were wrong, then I agree we could get rid of it easily. But it's not necessarily wrong.

ravenheart July 28, 2010 2:25:46 PM UTC

I would venture that it is wrong. A setlist is the songs played by an artist. A intro tape is not a song played by the artist. At this show, for instance, Heaven & Hell did not play the track E5150.

That said, I think there is some value in recording which intro tapes were used on tours etc.

Perhaps a new tag for intros could be designed. Some bands also use intro tapes for certains songs during a set, so it could also be used for those.

E.g:

The Mob Rules @Intro[E5150]

Could be displayed as:

Intro: E5150 (in grey text like "Encore:")
The Mob Rules

That idea has been suggested before, and I personally think it's a great idea. You can click the Feedback button on the right side of the page to leave your comments for the site administrators.

I know adding @Cover[Black Sabbath] seems redundant, but it's necessary to keep the song and album statistics correct. We have discussed hiding the @Cover tag for related artists like Black Sabbath and Heaven & Hell. This could be implemented in the future.
