I think you already can make the last show's setlist, just adding Feeling Good too .. sad! :(
I dunno, I think there's a chance of something new being added tonight since this is their biggest show before Reading and Leeds.
Yup, so it would be perfect to do two or just one of the speciels from OoS like Micro Cuts, Dark Shines or Space Dementia.
But I really don't think it will happen. Biggest chance is there for same setlist as Noblesville + Feeling Good. Wuhuuuu !! (not..)
I still feel like adding stuff to this show is a real fuck you to the rest of the fans who had to suffer the same shit over and over again and it takes away from the special show that Reading/Leeds is meant to be.
I'm actually more pissed off that they played Megalomania in Russia than if they hadn't.
Was just thinking that, B&H => GL => CE is terrible pacing, haha. At least CE is finally getting an outing!
Nice setlist so far. I don't get why so many fans dislike Guiding Light so much. I think it's a great song: vocals, drums, bassline and guitar solo...
But live it is immensely boring... Never seen it live, but can't stand youtube videos... just think of what else they could be playing...
Bliss is 1 second shorter than Guiding Light. 1 second for an extra useless riff.
I've seen Guiding Light live and I can say it sounds great, with all the crowd singing it. But of course I would prefer to see Microcuts or Assassin... =P
I've seen GL three times. 1st time, it was awful, 2nd time, it was alright, 3rd time, I didn't even notice they played it until the confetti and streamers.
I don't have a huge problem but it's NOT a good live song. Streamers or not.
I will say that I personally like GL better than UD... but its all good guys. I think us musers spend way too much time complaining about the few songs that don't give us goosebumps and whatnot and forget how good it all is.
But that's why we feel pissed off in the first place: because it's NOT good.
People paint this as a black and white "we hate you for not playing these songs" picture.
That's not what it is at all.
The shows are short and the shows are the same every time out. The same generic performance over and over again with the lack of length to really send fans home happy. Dave Grohl said it best: if you go see a band who have been together more than 10 years and they play less than two hours, wait behind till after the show and tell them they suck.
Muse, the way they are at the minute, suck.
I have to agree on that. They have been way too much relaxed the past couple of years. Hope they wake up soon...
i will say that every single person i know who see's them for the first time is still completely blown away
Tiro ==> Starlight ==> Stockholm ==> Overture/Bliss ==> PiB ==> KoC
Expected. Only put Bliss in there because apparently was spotted on a setlist...
Sure, I was blown away! And I still love them, they're my favourite band and I'll see them live on every chance I get. But still, I hope they will make further efforts in the future gigs...
I was not. The first EVER Muse show I went to might have been one of the worst concerts I'd ever seen. I was a HUGE fan at the time so I gave them another chance and they were far better over the Wembley Weekend.
I'm here because I WANT to see Muse change. I might not have faith in the actual band anymore but I want to have faith that they MIGHT change.
I'm probably going to Reading, not to see Muse but more so for other acts. They will get another chance to win me over.
It will probably be there last. If they fail to do so, I'll probably never even listen to them again.
My God, I wish I was there! I saw them twice during their Resistance tour, and they played pretty much the sam list both times. Citizen Erased would be fantastic live! If they play Take a Bow, those are the luckiest attendees!
I suppose everything pales in comparison to Glasto 04, but they are still very much one of the best live bands. How spoiled are we, when we complain about hands down the best live band known to walk this earth at the moment because we don't like the songs they've chosen for their set at a festival. Believe me, there are far more people out there creaming their pants at this very moment because they did play those songs.
^^^Anything pre BHaR tour is pale. Since then they have been basically depending on lights and big screens... I blame Morgan. He is the back up for Matt's laziness.
complete agree yourdarkshines. I took 4 new fans to the sacramento gig (look it up, absolutely TERRIBLE setlist), and i still loved it, and they claimed it was the best show they had ever been to
"How spoiled are we, when we complain about hands down the best live band known to walk this earth at the moment because we don't like the songs they've chosen for their set at a festival."
....Lol. Really?
so is this LukeTheLover is a troll who wants to just bait us into arguing on the internet?
LukeTheLover, if you're so disappointed with Muse, I'll gladly "safekeep" your ticket to Reading... =)
I don't see anyone complaining about the setlist. On top of that, if you wanna call me a troll for thinking your opinion is wrong then call me a troll.
At least it's better than the last two set lists... but freaking hell they need to figure out their song placings...
Why the hell not???they palyed it a couple times during the Resistance tour...US shows...
a COUPLE of times. They played Dead Star once too but do you expect that to close?
I don't expect it, it would be a nice suprise, in my opinion...
Keyword: Surprise. It's one of the more likely rarities to come up but it's still in the pretty unlikely area.
TAB is one of my favourite Muse songs but it was NEVER getting played at this show.
I've never seen it performed live, probably won't. I think the best liklihood for it would be at a large festival. No idea because have never been to Lolla, but it seems pretty big. Why do you think it would never be played at this show?
let's compare: Coldplay, a band in similar popularity (probably a bit more) and similar age to Muse, played 18 songs (+1 short instrumental) at their headlining set here. Muse played 15 (+3 short instrumentals). Coldplay played five new songs, three old fan favourites they haven't played for ages and the majority of their biggest hits, as well as a regular fan favourite (Politik). Muse played one rare song, one rarely played fan favourite/lesser hit, every single one of their big songs and a shitty song no one likes from their newest album and a whole bunch of shitty jams that waste time. for most of the tour they weren't playing -any- older fan favourites like B&H and CE. pretty sure Coldplay are a better live band right now.
Well this setlist is slightly better than the last two they've done (LA Rising and Indianapolis). I'm sorry but as much as I love Exgoenesis Symphony Part One, it does NOT make a good opener. Uprising is a better opener and Citizen Erased is a nice addition. But overall still pretty disappointed in their setlist considering this is one of the biggest festivals out there. Since I see how quickly I am taken out of context here let me say: I don't think they put on a bad or boring show show, I'm just saying the setlist is pretty standard. If they performed the same set they did in Russia for those three dates in May I really wouldn't be complaining at all.
best likelihood for TaB is certainly not at a large festival these days. they were lucky to get B&H and CE here. TaB is in a whole different league
True about B&H and CE. Haven't seen those live either. Oh well..Still, as others have said, even with a pretty predictable setlist, they are still a great show. Better than many.
Luke, I've been seeing you around Muse setlists in this site and I never knew that was your opinion o.0
Everyone, just stop arguing. Reading & Leeds are the only gigs getting the Origin of Symmetry treatment, so stop whining and complaining that 2011 is supposed to be the year of "OoS". If they played the album from start to finish at every gig, it would become stale, e.g Supermassive Black Hole (*cough*). So, in conclusion, shut the fuck up, and watch Reading & Leeds on TV/Internet.
Riffs after Stockholm Syndrome was "Negative Creep Riff + Township Rebellion Riff + Endless Nameless Riff "
Well stop being so picky and demanding, and enjoy the atmosphere of the gig instead of the actual setlist.
I really don't see why so many people like this band. I went to Lollapalooza for APC and stuck around for Muse because I kept hearing how good they are live. I ended up walking out after about 5 songs. Their songs were so boring and the graphics on the screen were lame and cheesy. It was a total let down. APC should have gotten the longer time slot, not Muse.
fortysixand3 is biased towards apc wow shocker. lemme tell you ive loved tool and apc longer then ive been into muse and muse still blew away apc with a generic setlist... so shut the fuck up you bullshitter
No, Luke, because it's the decent thing to do than waste your time complaining about how bad a setlist is when you're not even at the show.
Where am I complaining? I've gotten past the point of even caring now and what gives you the almighty authority to tell anyone else what is and isn't "the decent thing to do"?
You seem to think that you have a right to tell me what is and isn't the right thing to do. Well, you don't.
First off, you've been complaining on any Muse Resistance Tour setlist that the set is terrible, and now you're doing it again. Second, I am not the dictator figure demanding everybody to do what I say whom you think I am. It's my opinion and not some "almighty authority".
That was you telling me what to do, not giving an opinion.
It's my opinion on what people should do. I am not demanding everybody do what I say. And my comment is not directly aimed at you, so you might want to rephrase what you're saying.
Yes, yes I do, but in your comments you mention you and only you, not everyone.
ok u guys ive never been to a muse concert but i sure love 2 but i have a question a normal setlist like this lets say 18 songs what lenght would be the concert?(ignore the grammar mistakes im not very good at english)
No need to put that info down, they haven't performed Butterflies & Hurricanes in Chicago either in at least a few years.
They actually didn't play Interlude as an intro to Hysteria like they usually do. They just skipped from Star Spangled Banner straight to Hysteria. See in this video-
