As a long time Pixies fan, I have listened to their studio albums countless times. I have heard tons of their live music and watched numerous live performances - including a lot of recent performances. This is why I was thoroughly disappointed with their performance on Sunday; it just did not live up to their standard. I didn't love their set list either, but it was an interesting concept. The set was short and then dragged out with many encores. Personally I hate sitting in the crowd begging for more, wondering if they are even coming back.
The sound at the Shaw Conference Center is also terrible. There was an awful echo coming from the back of the hall which really damaged the overall sound of the concert. This was especially true when Francis already had an unpleasant echo effect on his vocals.
Overall I was pretty disappointed, but I would go see them again if they came - I am sure they could redeem themselves.
