How exactly is it Slipknot's biggest show ever? Was there a record number of people there? Was their paycheck the biggest? Please show some numbers as any other festival Slipknot performed at this summer can be called their biggest yet.

Yes, there was a record number of people there. More than 100.000 people in the crowd, the show was broadcasted live on tv in Brazil and on youtube for the rest of the world.

LeonardoMF September 28, 2011 8:24:05 PM UTC

The guys from the band said that it was their biggest show ever. If they said that who are you?

Blooddawn September 28, 2011 8:27:35 PM UTC

100.000 tickets. Sold out.

ngbr September 28, 2011 8:48:57 PM UTC

I think i can add that back now.

deth_from_above September 28, 2011 8:50:42 PM UTC

Unless there are numbers that show that Slipknot have never played to a larger crowd, I'll keep it as is.

@Blooddawn And how do you know all of those people saw Slipknot instead of doing something else/seeing another band?

simplevlad September 28, 2011 8:56:28 PM UTC

just for the record: this is the site where you post the setlists. If you go and make a note like "biggest show of *bandname* ever" it means that there was the largest ever amount of songs band have ever played live. That's the deal. No one cares about how many people were there.

Blooddawn September 28, 2011 9:42:51 PM UTC

I don't know how many people were doing something else, but they were the only band playing at that time.

ngbr September 28, 2011 10:15:24 PM UTC

@deth_from_above
looks like you are jellows because you were not there. I know that all those people were eating, talking or making out instead of watching Slipknot's performance doesn't change a bit, they were there and it was Slipknot's biggest crows, as mr. Corey Taylor said.

@simplevlad your point is valid, but i disagree on the last sentence. I care about how many people were there, and the @Info tag in this site is exactly for that kind of info. Yes, the setlist is the most important, but maybe some extra information like how many people were there can make a difference to the band's setlist

deth_from_above September 29, 2011 7:06:38 AM UTC

@ngbr
I was at two Slipknot performances this summer - in Moscow, and at Graspop in Belgium. Please don't be presumptous, it's silly. Corey mentioned at Graspop that since it was the first festival they had ever headlined back in whatever year that was, Graspop was one of his favorite crowds to perform to. I could've put in the @Info section that "One of Slipknot's favorite crowds." and it would be just as legitimate as what you're insisting we do.

ngbr September 29, 2011 10:40:04 AM UTC

so, when i see a setlist, i'd like to see if that was the biggest show of that band, not if it was one of their favorite crowds. "Favorite crowds" is a personal opinion of the band, "show with a record number of people is a fact. In this website that the focus on the show and the setlist and not on the band, facts should be more important, and that's why it should be there in the Info section. I won't discuss more. Have a good life.

You run off with your tail in between your legs as soon as you're getting beat? Not very good etiquette for an internet argument, ngbr.

rock in rio is traditionally one of the biggest festivals on the planet, just because of the capacity and also a lot of people find a way in over the recorded attendance. I don't have the figures for the slipknot edition , but to give you and idea, Graspop 2011's recorded attendance was 142,000 , and previous Rock In Rio's have had over 1 million at some editions.

Cwej April 25, 2012 1:53:32 PM UTC

Favourite crowds is quite a subjective thing - when you're rabble rousing onstage you may tell an audience it's one of your favourite crowds - and it may well be , but everyones saying that all the time which dilutes the veracity of the statement somewaht - but for Rock in Rio it must be insane to see quite so many people. The only one i can think of that was bigger was that one in a desert in the US in the 80's ( can't remember the name sorry)
