Performance was great last night, too bad no Hooker with a penis :(

opening act was Tweak Bird, they were... alright

was i wrong? tool doesn't have to do much to blow me away, they could play this set forever. but it can't be THAT hard to add in a twist or two.

Really? You think they didn't add a twist or two...what about in Lateralus - just one example? They were off the board in nearly every song!

subtle changes in the way they play songs certainly count as "twists" but they aren't something someone is going to notice or care about unless they've been seeing multiple dates on this tour. what i do care about is that this 2009 summer tour is nearly identical setlist wise to what they played during the 10,000 days tour. Since 2006, i've basically seen the same show 3 times. I'm not here to bash tool and i understand the intricacies of tieing an entire visual light and laser show to the arrangements (and thus the inability for the band to drastically alter the set between consecutive nights) but i do think its reasonable and an expectation that this tour should bring something different than what we saw last time around. again, doesn't bother me, i'm still going to see every tour they ever do.
