I'm not sure what the instrumental songs were in between Stinkfist/Vicarious & Intolerance/Schism. I'm also not sure who the other drummer was that came in during Lateralus

The instrumental songs are the Vicarious Jam and the intro to Schism.

the drummer that came in for the drum battle with danny was the drummer from rajas, the opening band

Blew my F in mind! Seatle 2010. When they played Stinkfist I thought Key Arena was going to split in Half!

After last night in Seattle Tool has officially ruined any other bands for me! The entire show blew me away. Best concert I've ever seen. I will never be the same

Played Opiate after The Patient, I believe.

This was the most amazing concert I have ever seen! The only bad thing is Tool has ruined any other concert I will ever see, cause I don't know how anything else will live up to this.

RockerDude4Life July 12, 2010 1:56:01 AM UTC

I guess I just don't understand the whole obsession behind TOOL... a friend of a friend had an extra ticket so I went to the show. I felt they were one of those bands I needed to see live. They sounded amazing but weren't much to look at. I'm not a fan of big venues, so that probably didn't help the situation. I'd heard mixed reviews of their live shows and I felt like their live show had really mellowed out. There wasn't a mosh pit... people were paying hundreds to thousands of dollars to sit in chairs on the floor of the KEY ARENA... are you kidding me? The videos that were playing in the background were their music videos, what's so different about that. Don't get me wrong, I like TOOL. I'll be sure to pick up their next record but I won't bother paying $75 to see them live again (or $45 for a t-shirt)

I do give TOOL props for playing a lot of tunes off of LATERALUS and AENIMA. What was up with not playing an encore?

brainstasty July 12, 2010 3:44:34 AM UTC

I wish they did do the encore thing too. Maybe they are above that? Anyway sounded freaking amazing. Just ended abruptly. Parts of it melted my brain.

Have you ever been to a tool concert with GA and no chairs? I did in 1997 at the gorge and I have been to alot of shows. You don't want to be in a TOOL pit. And btw if you listen to the album undertow Maynard points out how he feels about mosh pits...

Jsse July 12, 2010 5:15:08 PM UTC

RockerDude4Life,

1. Tool never plays an encore. Their show is a fully choreographed show, and there aren't too many improv moments. It is meant to be a art piece in its self with beginning, middle, and end. An encoure would just be a let down after the climax.
2. Tool isn't a mosh-pit type band. If you're moshing to Tool songs, you're doing it wrong.
3. The visuals are not all just their videos. But I think it's safe to say that most of it is the art work of guitarist Adam Jones. So your $75 gets you a concert and a art show in one. Consider it a discount.

Yeah I was at the gorge 1997 show too & it pissed me off that people were moshing. I pay money to listen to the bands I love & take in the experience. Not get knocked around & beat up. I remember that '97 show a group of guys literally just circling each other then just start swinging & punching. WTF is the point of that!?

John Ciardi July 12, 2010 11:00:03 PM UTC

Came up from Portland with some fellow Tool-heads, and, of course, appreciated a live performance of this amazing music. Unfortunatley my last three large-venue Tool concerts have been tainted by the absolutely amazing show they did with King Crimson at the Schnizter concert hall (~2000 capacity) in 2001 in Portland. Another tour of concert halls instead of arenas would be greatly appreciated!

Fare not Tool fans. There will be nay sayers for even the greatest band in the WORLD. Truly, a very connected, personal, intense and (religion aside) religious moment for me. I have tripped out to Tool on every drug not injected, and had no idea what was about to happen that night. After the show I'd rather sit and stare at a wall than indulge in mindless anything else like tv and just remember what happened. Other bands play shows. Tool involves those who are human enough to set aside their pride and egos long enough to contribute back to a band to really experience something. It is not only up to the members of Tool. but you as an attendee, to contribute to the moment. To let go and see people sweating their ass off and see others overstimulated by something besides drugs, and realize, that no matter how shitty things can seem to be, we really are, sharing something great, with others who can have the capacity to acknowledge something immeasurable by even science itself. The vibe, the aura, the connectedness. Tool is a tool, to those who are alive enough inside to admit it, experience it, and be thankful for the hard work, dedication and love that goes into every single second that these gentlemen have strived to bring to YOU, the fans!

I know I'm a little late but does anyone know what the little speech with the guy on the screen before they played third eye is from?
