Sorry, it's the best I could do. I was a bit buzzed that night and YLT has a lot of songs they play. Any help in cleaning it up would be appreciated.
Good job remembering most of this. Here to Fall wasn't played that early in the set, and I'm On My Way wasn't played at all - James only had two songs that night.
As for the ones you missed: The "[unknown keyboard instrumental]" was "Tired Hippo," one of the unknowns was definitely "False Alarm" (that was the one where Ira had a seizure on the keyboard :-) ). "Tom Courtenay (acoustic)" came before When It's Dark and the "unknown" following that was "The Whole of the Law". Following that was Here to Fall, then "From a Motel 6."
And "Avalon or Someone Very Similar" was played at some point in the set, but I can't for the life of me remember where. Maybe after Tears Are In Your Eyes?
The last unknown, that surfer rock-ish song, I have no clue on, but I can't wait to find out, it was awesome.
'Avalon' was after 'Pass the Hatchet'. In the second enroce, I'm pretty sure there was a song intbetween the intsrumental (which may have been Blitzkrieg Bop) and 'Can't Forget'. I had written down the lyric "You won't get me".... not sure what it was. Here's what I wrote down at the show:
yo la set:
Periodically Double Or Triple
All Your Secrets
Pass the Hatchet, I Think I'm Goodkind
Avalon or Someone Very Similar
Tears are in Your Eyes
Stockholm Syndrome
Tired Hippo
If It's True
Here To Fall
Tom Courtenay
When It's Dark
The Whole of the Law
From a Motel 6
False Alarm
Nothing to Hide
More Stars Than There Are In Heaven
Nuclear War
encore:
Magnet
Sugarcube
Be Thankful For What You've Got
encore 2:
(surfy instrumental - Blitzkrieg Bop?)
("You won't get me")?
Can't Forget
everything up to sugarcube is definitely right, but after that my camera's battery died.
During the 2nd encore Georgia sang a song that I was not familiar with...went something like "diamond in the back...with a gangsta lean" It was such an awesome song. Does anyone know if this was a YLT original or a cover of some sort. It almost had a motown vibe to it. Right before they sang the song Ira stated that someone had requested it earlier in the evening when they were selling their shwag and that they had not played it for a very long time. Any ideas?
Did anyone go to Aspen Sunday night? Did they play Blue Line Swinger?
Ron
Ron, that was "Be Thankful for What You've Got."
Kptron, I don't remember there being 3 songs in the second encore, but great job with the rest of the setlist.
@Ron - Be Thankful for What You've Got was originally written & performed by William DeVaughn in 1972. It was covered by Massive Attack on their debut album in 1991.
@Danny - You're probably right about only 2 songs in the second encore. I'm not sure what my extra note meant at all.
Thanks for the information guys, much appreciated.
Ron
