I'll just do it the old fashioned way in the meantime, but I'll keep trying the bot whenever I need to convert a setlist.

Looks like the issue is finally resolved! And guess what Spotify had to say:
“There was an ongoing experiment within an upstream system that was causing this issue for users part of that experiment. We have stopped the experiment[…]”
So, in a nutshell, Spotify was screwing around. Classic.
Please let me know if the bot is stable again!

Interesting. I thought such experiments, when there’s a very large user base, are done only on a small set first. Maybe they just picked some API keys, and yours happened to be one of them. I manually created a playlist in the meantime (the bot found only 12/22), and the desktop app was also bad at finding the songs. The search at the bottom of the playlist couldn’t find the song when I searched for “amyl and the sniffers pigs,” but when I searched for “amyl and the sniffers pigssssss,” it found it (I don’t know why I thought of trying to add “s” at the end). Now the desktop app search seems to work fine.
Anyway, I just tried the bot again (with strict search) on this (which is fine by me – maybe even better considering I use this to prepare for concerts):

It didn’t find 5 out of 21 songs, but the ones it missed were all from an album that hadn’t been released yet (it found some songs from that album that were released as singles).
I saw the update you wrote there, so I tried another one:

I ran into issues on Safari, trying https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/deftones/2024/petco-park-san-diego-ca-b5465da.html . I get the error (as displayed in Web Inspector) “Wrong url scheme for WebSocket https://setlistfm.selbi.club/convert-ws” ; inside the function 'createSpotifyPlaylistFromSetlistFmSetlist', line 20 of 'converter.js'.
Then going within the function 'WebSocket', “SyntaxError: The string did not match the expected pattern.”
It worked when I just switched to Chrome though, so all good!

Hello,
Recently attended a Metallica concert that was a 2 day event and I would like to combine the 2 day setlist into one. But thwy only seem to show up as 2 separate setlists on setlist FM.
Whenever I try to add the other to a Playlist in Spotify they don't seem to show up as a Playlist.

@crowndroyal – unless Metallica played ONE show that took place over two days (they played for 28 hours straight?), each show gets its own setlist.
When an artist is performing twice in one day, even back-to-back shows at the same venue, if there is a break between sets, every attendee must have a ticket to each show, there is an audience change between sets, then each show gets its own setlist.

So is there no way to combine the 2 in Spotify easily without having to choose each song and add it.

If you're on the desktop version of Spotify, you can Ctrl+A all songs in one playlist and drag them over into another. Though in this particular case you're almost certainly making your life easier by just searching for “metallica setlist 2025″ on Spotify, because I'm convinced those are already plentiful.

They are plentiful, my issues is it does not want to combine them at all in Spotify as they are 2 different set lists. Maybe I will have to try the desktop version.
I have tried to add to Playlist and they don't even show up as a choice on mobile.. No one has both events combined into one so it will be 1 Playlist. Maybe I can try searching Spotify

@crowndroyal Any chance you're trying to add directly to the playlist you saved? If so, that one is owned by Selbi's setlist.fm bot which is probably why you can't add to it. You first need to add all of it to your own playlist and then you can add more songs to it. In the desktop app you can do “Add to other playlist > Create new playlist” with one of them, and then with the other “Add to other playlist” choose the one you just created.

There are a lot of covers on it but it couldn't find any of them even though I had “Cover originals” checked. Is this still an issue with the unreliable Spotify search?

Okay yeah, that's odd… There's definitely something fishy with cover originals going on here. I'll take a look at it when I get some time.
That said, it did always bother me that jams are put into the same category as regular songs. I could exclude those by filtering “solo” or “jam”, but that's dirty and would kill songs that just so happen to include those words. Ideally I'd be able to filter out any non-songs from their metadata alone. I don't suppose you got an idea here?

I'm not sure. There could be live albums with the jam or solo, but also potentially more than one by the same artist. If this is a common issue that prevents playlist creation, maybe consider adding a filtering checkbox for it?
One could argue that, according to the guidelines, many of these should actually be listed as “Unknown Song” (with “jam” in the additional info). But I don't know if the API provides any indication that it's a placeholder title and not an actual song named “Unknown Song”-which does exist in some cases.

Finally had some time to sit down and take a closer look at this. It was basically a combination of Spotify returning bogus results and me not properly catching those edge cases. But cover originals should be reasonably stable now:

One quirk that I got like zero control over is Seven Nation Army though. Some moron thought it was funny to credit a cover under Jack White, and since the app always tries to search for official cover recordings over cover originals first, I got no chance to handle that edge case as well. Sorry about that.

And regarding that Seven Nation Army cover, well—that's definitely a song I don't need additional familiarization with before a concert and also Spotify shouldn't be ranking this cover higher than the original version.
