How on earth would one add a setlist for the band “The The”…? :)
Can't search for them (too many and it cuts off after 22 or so), tried using quotes, tried the drop down, tried advanced search… maybe there's a backdoor way via Musicbrainz #?

Correct, you can just use the MBID to add a setlist:

I had the same issue, now that they are touring again.

One way to find their shows is search the venue instead of the band. That's like a back door into the concert setlist.
I feel like the search algorithm should not ignore words if they are in quotes. Even words like “the” or “an” which are usually ignored words.
