Adding songs to albums?

Is there a way to add a song, played on tour before being recorded, to an album once it has been released officially?

The API is read-only, so there is no way to do anything like that using the API.
In case you just got into the wrong forum: song to album mappings are periodically updated. It doesn't matter when the song was first played. We just match song names in setlists to those from albums (where Musicbrainz is our source). Hence, if the song in question is listed on an album on Musicbrainz it will be added.

How long does it take that album entries on musicbrainz are added to an artist? Because I put in a setlist of “Jamie and the Magic Torch Song” and all songs are still listed as from “other albums” but when you click on them you can read from wich album they are. That's a bit crazy ;-)! I'd like to add some more past events of this bands sometime so I ask myself what I can do about this problem?

I don't really understand. There are currently 7 songs on the setlist that fall into the “Other Albums” category, the rest is assigned. If you saw a different pie chart when you wrote your forum post then the answer is: the pie chart on the setlist gets reused for a bit (hours) even if the assignments change. If you click through to the song pages there's now caching involved – so there might be a slight discrepancy sometimes.
