Albums Missing Despite Being on MusicBrainz
Posted 24 Aug 2021, 18:54:40
Only the first two of Driveway's EPs/Albums are showing up on this site, causing their setlists to primarily be showing up as “Other Albums”. They do exist on MusicBrainz (minus their most recent EP) but it won't update. How do we get the albums/eps over here?
Edit: Added the most recent EP to MusicBrainz so there's a total of 5 albums/eps that are missing here

The missing album is due to it not being marked as “Official”, its status is “Unknown” on musicbrainz. This needs to be edited (in case it is an official album) to be imported to setlist.fm. As for the other EPs: updates are a bit slow right now, they should come in soon. Sorry for the delay.

Hi! Thank you so much. I was able to get October Forever and other EPs switched to “Official” on Musicbrainz.
I do have one issue. “Are You Afraid of the Dark” and “Skeletons” are showing up under their “5 Years Down” EP which is incorrect (I suspect because this EP has acoustic versions of these songs). AYAOTD is on their album October Forever and Skeletons is from their Skeletons EP. Is there any way to fix this?

I assigned the song 'Skeletons' to their EP “Skeletons” but unfortunately their album “October Forever” has not been available on setlist.fm yet.
Basically now all we can do is just waiting.

I don't know how to deal with this MusicBrainz thing, can anyone please add “Absurd” from GN'R?

It is now (automatic import).

There's an non-latin character in the title of the single. Adding an alias containing only latin characters to the release should solve the issue.

Thank you so much! Everything looks good now.

Hi. I am facing the same issue reported here to update the tracks from the current Caetano Veloso European tour. There are at least three albums that he plays tracks from that are listed in MusicBrainz, but they are yet to be displayed in the current drop down menu for Caetano. They are as follows:
Cinema Transcendental — https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/bf6972d2-ae8e-39ee-8d4a-9e1e1db39a60
Domingo (Caetano Veloso & Gal Costa) – https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/180f0a32-9d13-333a-a2b9-5466899b03eb
Tropicalia 2 (Caetano Veloso & Gilberto Gil) – https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/3509eb47-3267-3438-b885-5f343bc4430e
Many thanks!

Hi. Any updates on the above request? These albuns are still unavailable on setlist.fm, despite being listed on MusicBrainz. Thanks in advance.

They're all collaboration albums. This unfortunately means that the songs need to be assigned manually by a moderator/roadie as only the albums by the artist (and no collaborations) get listed in the dropdowns. A list which songs need to be assigned to which album, ideally with link to the song pages would help a lot.

Thank you very much for your kind reply, Michi.
There's no doubt that Domingo (with Gal Costa) and Tropicália 2 (with Gilberto Gil) are collaboration albuns and I understand the policy.
I beg to differ on Cinema Transcendental. A Outra Banda da Terra is really a backing band — it would be the same as avoiding listing Harvest as a Neil Young album (since he's joined by The Stray Gators) or Ziggy Stardust as a Bowie album (because he's joined by The Spiders from Mars). (But again it's perfectly understandable that those who do not follow Caetano would not know the difference).
Anyway, these are three songs he played on the tour that should be assigned to Cinema Transcendental:
Menino do Rio – https://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/caetano-veloso-3d6e183.html?songid=1bda9530
Trilhos Urbanos – https://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/caetano-veloso-3d6e183.html?songid=6bdda646
Cajuína – https://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/caetano-veloso-3d6e183.html?songid=7bdda64c
Once again, many thanks for the attention.

Inti-Illimani's “Pequeño Mundo” is on Musicbrainz but here it appears as “others” except for the cover songs.

Hello,
I created this setlist:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/bala/2021/castell-de-montjuic-barcelona-spain-1b8d31a4.html
All the songs played are from the three albums released from the band. These three albums are already properly listed in Musicbrainz:
https://musicbrainz.org/release/01906363-e21b-4354-95cf-ca7ad20dafa4
https://musicbrainz.org/release/95ab9670-f9c7-464c-b18a-f54b71ab8a2f
https://musicbrainz.org/release/90f3963e-22d0-4f00-a856-926099394832
The song list of every album in Musicbrainz is correct, however only 4 of the songs of the setlist are assigned in their correct album. The rest of the songs on the setlist (11 songs) have been assigned as “Others” when they should be in their corresponding album.
What could be happening? As I mentioned all three albums and their song lists are correctly listed in musicbrainz. Thanks very much in advance.

@Josep311
I went ahead and marked the above “Other” songs using the album assignment request form under each song. The issue should now be fixed!

You got me wrong there :). It's a technical issue, not a semantic one. It's at musicbrainz by Caetano Veloso & A Outra Banda da Terra which makes it (technically) a collaboration on both MB and setlist.fm. I assigned two of the three songs to the album, one isn't used in setlists so no assignment necessary. It's also possible to assign the other songs to the other collaboration albums if you'd be so kind to provide a list with links. Thanks!
