I've found a lot of artists with several different capitalization styles of the their songs, leaving duplicates on the Songs list and skewing the Song Statistics. I've taken the time to fix some but it's a lot of work and sometimes the most used capitalization on a song is the wrong one; also users that went to those gigs tend to change it back.

Is there an easier way to standardize or merge all the song duplicates? Shouldn't different capitalization be treated the same? And then maybe be allow to change it in a song but then translate that change to all the setlists.

Currently only moderators and admin have the tools to batch edit songs (i.e. changing all occurrences of a falsely spelled or capitalised song at once). We're thinking about a way to give 'simple' users more powers. Whenever users change correctly capitalised songs back, please point them to the guidelines . When setlist.fm started, different capitalisations were treated the same. But that just didn't look good. There was everything from all caps, to no caps, to fAncY cAPs. So we chose to go for this way.

As said, merging is easy for moderators and admins, so for starters just post the songs here.

First of all, I think going back to when different capitalizations were treated the same could be good if there was a way to select the proper capitalization to display.

Second, how do I become a moderator or admin? It's a pain in the ass editing things like this or adding a “cover” info if you have to change every damn setlist the song appears on.

I fixed most of the duplicate songs for the artists you posted.
I didn't look at capitalization.
And since I didn't know any of these bands I might have made a few mistakes.

Feel free to let me know if I did any mistake. I'll fix it.

There are so duplicated songs … like 2,000 Light Years Away (9)
2000 Light Years Away (279)
