Bug: If you try to view a setlist from the artist A.D.D. you are taken to the Add setlist page.

Oh that's interesting. Thanks for reporting!

If setlist.fm wants to compile song count then they need to correct their algorithm for calculating number of times a song was played by only recognizing a tune once per show no matter if it was broken up, as the Grateful Dead do quite often.

What they also need to correct is their algorithm for calculating number of times one has seen a band(s) in a specific venue. If I saw 3 bands on the same night in one venue, the algorithm treats that as though I was in that venue 3 times. NO I was only in it once and I happen to catch three bands.

And setlist.fm also needs to account for name changes to venues. Take Deer Creek Amphitheatre in Noblesville, Indiana…they get a sponsor and the name is now Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center…It's STILL Deer Creek! But now my stats say I've been in Deer Creek 3 times and Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center 1 time. Again, NO I've been in Deer Creek 4 times. Sponsor names in this day of the ol might money grab are meaningless. You're not beholden to them. Unless the venue has been demolished, it's just a name, the building hasn't changed. All that does is inflate statistics without truly quantifying the reality of what it is.

Those are some of the important things that need to corrected to make this site a true repository of concert statistics if y'all truly value quality and not just quantity.

Some (easy?) additions which I would love to see:

- On a song-stats page for a particular song, show how often you, the user, has seen the song performed live. For example, on the song page for Yesterday I would like to see how often I have seen it perform live (twice if I'm not mistaken). This query comes close, but shows all concerts with a song with the word 'Yesterday' I have attended. Alternatively, you could expand the number of entries on a user's personal song stats, which is currently limited to 300 entries.

- On the artist-concert map stats page, add the statistics of the most-played venues (like you can see on your personal stats)

- Similarly, on your personal stats, add the concert map stats (like on the artists stats)

Thanks!

Oh, and:

And setlist.fm also needs to account for name changes to venues.

+1! i Wish name changes/aliases or multiple rooms within the same venue could be treated differently somehow.

Re: Queens and Brooklyn are not New York, NY

You should've mentioned The Bronx as well.

All NYC boroughs are in a different county
Manhattan = New York County
Queens = Queens County
Brooklyn = Kings County
The Bronx = Bronx County
Staten Island = Richmond County

I have no opinion whether we should talk about borough of New York but we should really write
New York City, NY
over
New York, NY

You write
Quebec City, QC (something over which I don't agree)
You should do the same for New York.

I have asked for that before, but you didn't answered back and nor will you this time either.

Without offering my own opinion on the matter, I will say that the U.S. Postal Service writes it as New York, NY;

Well Postes Canada (Canada Post) writes it as Québec QC

Is it me?

The country has been added to the city field. Seems to me it didn't used to be there.

Funny fact: there are two different Shea Stadium. One of them in the actual city of Brooklyn, in order to make the distinction between two venues with the same name as opposed to any other venue in NYC. One single venue for four different Madison Square Garden also in NYC. The four different Madison Square Gardens, three of them having setlists, were in three different locations, all in Manhattan.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for feature requests but I didn't see anywhere else to put it:

One small feature that I've been thinking would be nice to have for a while would be a world map on users “attended concerts” page. So much like how the map on artist pages shows a visual representation of where the artist has played (including regionally within countries), it would be cool to be able to have a similar map for all the concerts that a user has attended.

This seems like it would be a simple feature to implement but of course I know hardly anything about how this site is actually built.

a world map on users “attended concerts”

I don't think that a lot of users travel all over the world just to see a concert. All the concerts i've been to were in the city i lived. I've came to Montreal two times to see the Rolling Stones because they were not coming in my hometown. Montréal was two hours away from the city i used to live in, that's close enough.

The new change to add “Duplicate setlist” or “Fake setlist” buttons directly on a setlist page to have setlists removed is not working as intended. From what I read in the forums, it was to make the process a lot easier. I have used this new method twice now – once to report a postponed concert and once again to report a duplicate. Previously, when reporting to the forum (where all topics have now been locked) these setlists would normally have been removed within 24 hours. Now, days have gone by and the reported setlists have still not been removed. Change is good, but only when it works.

You only speak for yourself (and perhaps some others in North America).

Regarding the “new “Duplicate setlist”/“Fake setlist” buttons:
Is my understanding correct, that cancelled concerts are no longer removed? Cancelled concerts are neither duplicate nor fake, but I thought they should get removed like in the past and reported one cancelled concert four days ago as “fake” to be deleted, but up to now it hasn't been deleted and only an @Info information has been added that the concert didn't take place. I will stop to report cancelled concerts and add the @Info information by myself. Maybe this change in policy should be made more clear in the guidelines.
