General website bugs, errors and suggestions for improvement

I've been wondering about this for a while – what about a Map/By Country feature for songs?

I'm wondering about map/by country stats for users whenever I'm on my concerts page. You're absolutely correct, stats could be improved a lot. Especially improving the personal stats has been on the TODO list for quite a while.

I agree that the advanced search doesn't really work. But it can be used at least partially. This search for the song by Colin Hay in Brazil returns all occurrences except the ones by “Men At Work”

i have a problem with my edits between 07/07 an 07/12.

Yes, that's a known issue. There are some setlists missing in the search results – but I guarantee you that they're still there. The problem should be fixed within the next couple of days.

You can use the search engine to get a breakdown of your attended concerts by country with “attendee:pomes27″.

The Colin Hay song performances can certainly be filtered down like that, but the fact that the song has only been played in the one country (from our records) is the important/interesting thing, and I think could be presented to users (rather than digging). Now I'm curious if there are any other of his songs only/mostly performed in Brazil…!

Hello there! I have a question concerning Coldplay setlists… Whenever a user (literally any user) makes an edit on a Coldplay setlist that has their song “Kaleidoscope” on it, regardless of whether or not the user's edit is concerning “Kaleidoscope”, the website always tries to change the song into a Muse cover automatically. I have no idea why this is. It makes no sense… Muse doesn't even have a song called “Kaleidoscope”, and I can't find a Coldplay setlist on here that has the song (accidently) listed as a Muse cover. Does anybody know why this is happening? If anything can be done to correct this bug, please let me know! Thank you! :)

Also, for your convenience, here is a Coldplay setlist that was affected by this bug. Look at the edit history. I had to revert the song back a couple of times. Hopefully this helps…

I could reproduce the bug. Weird stuff. But it definitely has something to do with “Kaleidoscope” being a tape song in Coldplay setlists. I file a bug report for this. Thanks for reporting!

Is it me? I've been out of town for a week but lately, numerous songs have been sent to bad releases, two-album-on-a-single-disc-release, compilations, live album. The worst is that most of these were easy.

Manually assigned ones?

Manually assigned ones?

Auto assigned. Same as I reported last week; for some reason the auto assign function no longer prefers studio albums so hundreds if not thousands of previously correct songs have now been incorrectly reassigned to live albums, compilations, remix albums and whatnot ☹
I've been manually correcting bands I know, but it is a daunting task to correct everything that was previously correct without knowing what has changed…

Now we're going have to check and correct 149 832 artists.

Hopefully not. We're looking into this issue again (since we couldn't find any code changes the first time, but there must be something wrong) – could you please provide some current examples? I know the problem affected Marillion and Dream Theater albums, some more might be helpful.

Came across Golden Earring today, which shows two entries for Tits 'n Ass and a whole host of compilation albums. I had corrected all of their assignments a few months back. So songs that are now automatically assigned to a compilation album would have been assigned correctly automatically last time I checked.

Also, The Cribs stats have incorrect assignments due to their debut album being reissued as download, so it now shows as 2012 release instead of 1994 and its are automatically applied to older live albums

The Who
It's Hard, title song of the last album was mislabelled

There's another band that I don't recall I did a few days ago. At least twenty of their songs were badly assigned.

Of course, the ones I came across. I made the corrections.

There ought to be a limitation on bonus tracks… out of common sense.

https://www.setlist.fm/stats/albums/elvis-costello-43d6b78f.html

I just assigned numerous songs to LIVE AT THE EL MOCAMBO even though none of them are on that album, I just didn't wanted to call them OTHERS.
All these songs were assigned to MY AIM IS TRUE but the thing is, they were all bonus tracks. Of all the songs that were assigned to MY AIM IS TRUE, less than half of them were on the original release. All of them were on deluxe or reissues and nowhere else.
All the bonus that have ever been added on any of the reissues count to four times longer than the original.

I don't think that we should assign bonus tracks to albums. One or two bonus songs that were only on the German or Japanese release is okay but in this case, they're was way too many of them.

We can only choose MY AIM IS TRUE, we can't choose MY AIM IS TRUE DELUXE or MY AIM IS TRUE (BONUS). There are 19 different MY AIM IS TRUE releases on Musicbrainz.

So all the songs on LIVE AT THE EL MOCAMBO are to be sent somewhere else but don't you dare assigned them to MY AIM IS TRUE. I really mean that.
