General website bugs, errors and suggestions for improvement

Is it intended that a song isn't counted twice if it's performed twice at one show?

You're right, this looks like a bug in the year-list stats you've linked to. It's at the correct 15 performances if you look at the 1997 stats. Thanks for reporting!

Why michi only answer questions by other people and can't help me? Everytime i try to add a new setlist, the message “This setlist has been locked for editing by a moderator.” appears. C'mon administrators, fix it.

I'm not entirely sure why, but this total is wrong: https://www.setlist.fm/song/dir-en-grey/garbage-53d23bf9.html

It should be 136, not 137. I tried removing one of the performances, but the total stayed the same. A first removal didn't even go through.

I guess the server is just a little slow at the moment, but just in case…

The wrong total hasn't fixed itself yet. So I guess this might be a more serious issue… or I'm overlooking something.

As a suggestion, you might also want to improve the forum's spam detection/prevention. :D

The total seems correct to me, it got played 137 times in 136 setlists (twice in Hiroshima on 2006-12-17).

Any details on this one? Where did you encounter spam that didn't get recognised as such?

The select city stage of the Add Venue process could really do with some help with ordering the list of results. For example, none of the following well-known cities have the correct one as first result:

  • Paris
  • London
  • New York
  • Los Angeles
  • Sydney
  • Gold Coast
  • Adelaide
  • Dallas
  • Cardiff
  • Manchester
  • Glasgow
  • Munich
  • Rome

Some of them don't even appear in the first page of results.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'd generally advice to use the “Add venue” link on any existing venue for the city instead of relying on the city search field.

Ok what the hell? For almost a year and a half, every time I've tried to make a setlist it says “this setlist has been locked for editing by a moderator” and I've seen many people say the same thing on this exact forum yet no one's helping them even though I see mods replying to other people? Why are you ignoring this?! If we are for some reason banned from the website, can you just say so instead of pretending we don't exist, it's really immature.

Nicholas, have you checked whether this is a browser issue or whether it also happens when you sign in differently (e.g. via Google, if you haven't done so yet)? I'm curious.

Oh damn, that's on me then. Should've only been once.

So does that mean the counting problem regarding songs that were performed more than once at one show is fixed?

Any details on this one? Where did you encounter spam that didn't get recognised as such?

Ah, there were two spam threads on the forum at the time I posted it, but I guess that's been dealt with.

Not really, only the “Years” stats are affected by this bug. Before you fixed the GARBAGE issue and there were still 137 plays for 136 setlists, the “Years” stats added up to 136 but should have added up to 137 as well.

Ah, there were two spam threads on the forum at the time I posted it, but I guess that's been dealt with.

Yes, a tiny minority slip through, but they're usually dealt with pretty fast.

We can credit songs to traditional and we do.

However we can’t credit songs to Various Artists. There are some songs that are written by several different acts but Various Artists can’t be use for these cases. it’s too vague.

All these songs should be credited to nobody at all.
https://www.setlist.fm/stats/covered/various-artists-3d4350b.html

Most of these are actually medleys and we don’t credit medleys except when all the songs on it are by one artist which is not the case here.

“This setlist has been locked for editing by a moderator.” message appears to me. I never added a setlist before. Help?

It has nothing to do with you, this setlist, whatever it may be, is locked for everyone.

But i was trying to add a new setlist. Why a new setlist should be locked even before it was created? That doesn't make sense.
