There are several setlists using a venue called Phoenix Hall Sheffield England.

This was actually the hall within the Sheffield Polytechnic students union building and the whole bulding was called “The Phoenix” from mid 1970s to 1982 when its name was changed to “Nelson Mandela Building”.

There are many setlists for “Sheffield Poly” here which was the buildling known variously as “Phoenix/Nelson Mandela/NMB“ until 2003;

Can a mod fix this please?

What would you like it to be?
“The Phoenix, Sheffield Polytechnic” (1978-Nov 1982)
and
“Nelson Mandela Building, Sheffield Polytechnic” (Nov 1982-2004)

Hi pomes27 yes I think that is correct.

Anything held at “Sheffield Poly” pre 1978 was most likely in the bar on the 12th floor of the “12 storey block” on Pond Street. That building is on the other side of the road from Phoenix/NMB. I’ve never seen that called anything other than the 12th floor bar. Not Phoenix Hall anyway.
