In case you missed it: Mastodon took home a Grammy for 'Best Metal Performance' for “Sultan’s Curse,” off their latest release, Emperor of Sand. The album was released just last year, in addition to their EP, Cold Dark Place. The Atlanta-based metal band subsequently announced 45 chances to catch their award-winning live shows on the road, along with Northern California rockers Primus. The co-headlining dates kick-off May 6 at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, and wrap up the tour on July 7 at Phoenix, Arizona's Comerica Theatre.
The funk rockers in Primus also dropped a new record last year, their ninth studio album, The Desaturating Seven. The release marks the band's first studio album since 2014's Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble, and the first album since 1995 to feature the band’s original lineup.
