Songs Kacey Musgraves Should Bring Back on Oh, What A World Tour

Kacey Musgraves continues on her epic Oh, What A World Tour, with support from Soccer Mommy and Natalie Prass. As we've seen so far, the country singer is comprising much of her setlist with hits from her GRAMMY Nominated album Golden Hour, as well as Same Trailer Different Park, Pageant Material and a few choice covers. And while we love her current setlist, because let's face it, it's full of hits, we can't help but yearn for just a few of her lesser played tracks.

So while we obsess over the new material - "Slow Burn" and "Butterflies" are the jam - here are some of the favorites we want to bring back!

Track: "Biscuits"

Last Performed: Stagecoach 2018

Off her 2015 album Pageant Material , "Biscuits" and its coinciding music video provides us the ultimate guide on how to win friends and influence people.  Just “mind you own biscuits and life will be gravy,” taken from the hilarious tune, is the perfect metaphor for life. Like many country music songs, "Biscuits" is clever story telling at it's best and oh so fun to sing along to live!

Track: "Back on the Map"

Last Performed: June 11, 2016

From her debut album Same Trailer Different Park, “Back on the Map” is a simple, melancholy song about heartbreak, and a favorite when you having a "me" moment. This track hasn't had the chance to shine in a while and picturing Musgraves performing it to an attentive crowd would be a beautiful scene.

Track: "Silver Lining"

Last Performed: June 4, 2017

Another favorite from her album Same Trailer Different Park, “Silver Lining” sets the tone with its first line: “Woke up on the wrong side of rock bottom.” Utilizing her signature sash and clever lyrical genius, the tune is both cheerful and mournful, and backed by a swing-dance rhythm. It'll make you want to move and access your life all at the same time.

Track: "Step Off"

Last Performed: November 22, 2015

This is any angry woman's anthem! With the lyric, “screwed everybody over in this town,” the narrator delivers not-too-thinly veiled threats such as, “Keep running your mouth and stretchin’ the truth / You just might find a hole in your parachute.” It's a gentle and pleasant-sounding fight song that will have the crowd swaying and lightly fist pumping into the air.

The Track: “Dime Store Cowgirl”

Last performed: Stagecoach, 2018

One of the lead singles off Pageant Material, “Dime Store Cowgirl” is an irresistible tune with two classic country messages: Look How Far I’ve Come, and I’ll Never Forget Where I Came From. A favorite for many, this song holds a special place in Musgraves heart, referencing once during a live show:

“I was 11 or 12, and I was about to go onstage,” she said to a sold-out crowd at the Apollo Theater on Saturday night. “I had my cowboy hat on, and I was feeling pretty damn good about myself, as much as you can when you’re 12. And then this other girl’s mom seriously came over to me, right before I went onstage to sing.” Taking issue with the way that young Kacey wore her hat, the woman made a withering remark: “It just makes you look like some dime-store cowgirl.”

With a beautiful and relatable message, what is there not to like!
