Dream Theater Bring 19-Song Sets to European 2020 Tour

Dream Theater have started their massive "Distance Over Time" tour back up with a fresh new leg in Europe. The Boston prog metal band kicked things off over the weekend on January 11th at AFAS Live in Amsterdam, where they unveiled the same 19-song setlist they brought to other legs of the tour in 2019.
On kickoff night, however, they join many other heavy melodic acts, like Tool and Styx, in paying tribute to the death of Neil Peart of Rush. The band is a huge influence to many prog bands, and Dream Theater is no exception.
First, they trailed "Through My Words" with 30 seconds of silence for Peart, then during the encore, they tied "At Wit's End" with Rush's "Closer to the Heart" at the end, played by John Petrucci.

For the rest of the set, here's a refresher on what you can except from their "Distance Over Time" Tour.
They walk out to Nick Phoenix & Thomas J. Bergersen's "Atlas (Instrumental Alt)" before going into Act 1. The first Act is made up of six songs of fan favorites a Distance Over Time licks. It kicks off with "Untethered Angel."
Act 2 features a performance of the entire album Metropolis, Part 2: Scenes From a Memory in sequencing order, to celebrate over 20 years since its release. They encore with "At Wit's End."

The performance is mainly centered around the music, with heir multi-level stage setup so that the audience can see every member shred in their own right. Color and strobing light effects aid in the intense performance and a large monitor backdrop displays works of art.
