Swedish metal giants Sabaton are on the road with Finnish symphonic metal gods Apocalyptica on a co-headlining European tour!
The month-long trek dubbed "The Great Tour" kicked off on January 17th in Zürich, Switzerland and will run through February 17th in Oslo, Norway, with additional support from Amaranthe (who, by the way, just released a stellar cover of Sabaton's "82nd All The Way" that you can check out below).
Check out some highlights from the first few shows of the tour!
17 January – Zurich
The first stop on the tour was at the Hallenstadion in Zürich. Sabaton played what appears to be their standard setlist this time around – a 15-song main set followed by a four-song encore, with a section dedicated to Apocalyptica.
The first set opened with "Ghost Division" and included songs "The Attack of the Dead Men," "The Lost Battalion" and "82nd All the Way" before closing with "Night Witches." Apocalyptica joined for a six-song second set, which consisted of songs "Angels Calling," "Fields of Verdun," "The Price of a Mile," "Dominum Maris Baltici," "The Lion From the North" and "Carolus Rex."
Sabaton closed out the night with a four-song encore of "Primo Victoria," "Bismarck," "Swedish Pagans" and "To Hell and Back," followed by two recordings of "Dead Soldier's Waltz" and "Masters of the World."
19 January – Munich
The band brought the heat in Munich (literally – check out the pyro in the videos below!) with an identical set at Olympiahalle. There were highlights in songs like "Great War" and "The Red Baron."
21 January – Vienna
Sabaton's most recent stop was at Planet.tt Bank Austria Halle Gasometer in Vienna, Austria.
They switched things up a little, opening with the "In Flanders Fields" intro instead of their standard "Ghost Division" intro before getting into the first set. The rest of the setlist remained the same, with key moments in ""
