They Might Be Giants Kickoff Anniversary Tour w/ 36 Song Setlist!

They Might Be Giants are ringing in the New Year with a massive North American tour.
The band is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1990 breakthrough album Flood with a 27-date trek, which kicked off with a pair of shows in New York over the weekend. The tour will visit cities like Chicago, Boston and Pittsburgh before coming to a close May 17th in St. Louis.
Fans in attendance will hear Flood in full each night, in addition to a stacked setlist filled with fan-favorites spanning TMBG's entire career.

January 10 - Pawling, New York

The fun began on Friday with a 36-song-set (!!!) at Daryl's House Club in Pawling, New York.
The band opened the first set with "The Communists Have the Music" before getting into songs from all their albums, ranging from I Like Fun, Apollo 18, Glean and John Henry to Join Us, My Murdered Remains and Severe Tire Damage. Other highlights included "Pet Name," "Ana Ng," "Number Three" and "All Time What."
They played Flood in full for the second set, followed by not one, but TWO encores, consisting of songs "Damn Good Times" and "Hey, Mr. DJ, I Thought You Said We Had a Deal" as well as "The Mesopotamians."

January 11 - New York, New York

TMBG took over Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, and once again, it was a "Damn Good Time."
This time around, the group opened the show with Flood, with highlights in songs like "Minimum Wage," "Letterbox," "Lucky Ball and Chain" and "Road Movie to Berlin."
They followed up with a "Quiet Storm" acoustic subset, featuring acoustic guitars and electronic jazz elements. They opened set 2 with "Music Jail, Parts 1 & 2" before live debuting "2082" off 2011's Join Us.
The rest of the set consisted of acoustic-ish renditions of songs like "Wearing a Raincoat," "When Will You Die" and "She's an Angel." They closed the night out with two, two-song encores, highlighting songs "Damn Good Times," "Doctor Worm," "The Mesopotamians" and "Hey, Mr. DJ, I Thought You Said We Had a Deal."
