It was a return to tradition on the morning of January 19th, 2021, as Lady Gaga helped kick off the 2021 Inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris with a dramatic performance of The National Anthem. Gaga performed in a grand ball gown, into a gold microphone. Watch:
Jennifer Lopez delivered a rendition of "This Land is Your Land" with a quick hat tip to her 1999 hit "Let's Get Loud" (skip to 2:46 for that)
And, as the last performance of the morning, country star Garth Brooks sang "Amazing Grace."
This was quite a contrast to the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, wherein short sets were played by 3 Doors Down and Toby Keith.
Also worth watching is the youngest inaugural poet, Amanda Gorman.
