Yeah Yeah Yeahs Kicked Off Hot Blood World Tour 8 Years Ago Today

On January 11th, 2013 Karen O took the stage at The Glass House in Pomona in a red sequin two-piece suit and a zebra-print cape. It was the kickoff to their Hot Blood World Tour, started ahead of the release of their 4th studio album, Mosquito, and on that first night they live debuted three new tracks.
YYYs kicked off their set with the album's title track, "Mosquito." Take a look at some fan footage of the crowd going nuts over the new song:
They performed "Phenomena" from their debut album before their second live debut of the evening, "Under The Earth." The often-synced "Heads Will Roll" segued into "Pin" before the only song from their 2007 EP Is Is, "Down Boy."
The third and final live debut of the night came mid-set, "Subway" being a song only performed 24 times to date - mostly in 2013, and then twice more in 2017.
It's Blitz! tracks "Skeletons" and "Soft Shock" rocked into their second-most performed song to date, "Gold Lion." The ended the night with fan favorites "Zero" and "Cheated Hearts."
For the two-song encore they played the gut-punching ballad "Maps" and the frenetic "Tick."

Mosquito was released a few days after their 2013 Coachella spot. The Hot Blood Tour wrapped up November 9th in Brazil. This was the band's last major tour, although they played a handful of shows 2017-2019.
