Billy Idol knows a nice day when he sees one. The “Rebel Yell” icon is paying tribute to his classic hit “White Wedding” and its famous line, “It’s a nice day for a white wedding,” with a brand new tour.
Idol, alongside Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, will be hitting the road beginning April 30th for the “It’s a Nice Day To... Tour Again!” North American run.
The tour will kick off at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheater in Phoenix, Arizona, before hitting celebrated venues across the country. The run will wrap up on September 25th in Los Angeles at The Kia Forum.
Idol chose a perfect song to name the tour after, as “White Wedding” has remained a staple of his live sets, and one of the most popular songs in his influential discography. Idol has performed the song 646 times to date, beginning way back in 1982 at The Channel in Boston.
The song is Billy’s most performed of all-time, followed closely by “Rebel Yell,” which Idol has performed 633 times. Who knows how Idol will pay tribute to the song for which the tour is named, but odds are he’ll be performing “White Wedding” each night.
To celebrate news of the upcoming tour, Idol also shared a short video featuring songs from his catalog and cameos from comedian Matt Rife, longtime collaborator Steve Stevens, and Joan Jett.
Idol, whose last run was the Rebel Yell Canada Tour in the Summer of 2024, is in prime form for another expansive touring schedule.
He’ll also be putting his touring revenue to good use, pledging to donate five dollars from every ticket sold to the Los Angeles show at Kia Forum to the American Red Cross to support Southern California Wildfire Relief. Idol will also personally match this donation.
