LØLØ might jokingly call herself a Walmart Taylor Swift, but the musician whose mom wouldn't let her go to concerts at a young age (so as to protect her hearing) seems to be right on target.

Straight outta Toronto, LØLØ, 28, should not be confused with the US singer named Lolo (aka Lauren Pritchard) who is a decade older.

Our LØLØ has released the singles “Debbie Downer” "u turn me on (but u give me depression)" and "hot girls in hell." In 2024 she released her debut album falling for robots and wishing i was one.

Last week she announced her sophomore LP, god forbid a girl spits out her feelings! which will be made available in April.

Recently she stopped by the Setlist Studio to chat it up, just as frankly with Bree Wilde about some of her favorite concert memories as a fan and opening for Green Day.

New Found Glory, Gas Monkey, Dallas, 8/31/21

Lolo and NFG doing "Vicious Love" in Dallas

LØLØ: That was the first tour I was ever invited on, and it was a huge deal, because I had performed, like a few times in Toronto, where I'm from, but I had never been on a tour, and it happened to also be COVID, and no one was really out on tour at that time from Canada.

I actually also almost didn't even go on the tour. It was supposed to be me, New Found Glory and Simple Plan. And then Simple Plan actually backed off because of COVID, and they were scared. But the tour continued, and I almost backed off, because after Simple Plan got off.

I remember my agent and my manager were discussing like, "oh, I wonder if that crowd will like you. You're a lot more pop."

And I think if we made the decision to pull off the tour, it would have been the biggest mistake of my life, because that tour, like, set me up for everything.

But Chad Gilbert DM'd me on Instagram, and he's like, "we picked you for this tour because we think our fans will like you. You need to be on this tour."

Which I love him for that and I always thank him for everything, because he totally got my whole career going.

Green Day, Lollapalooza, Chicago, 7/31/22

LØLØ: My favorite band, My biggest dream was to play Lollapalooza and it was the same day as Green Day.

So I opened for Green Day, basically. I did play, yeah, so I opened for a Green Day.

A few months before this, I had actually been at a bar in LA on a Wednesday night, and I met Billie, and I met Mike, and I ended up hanging out with them for hours, like becoming friends with them, or however friends I thought that I could be.

I met them and told them, "I'm playing Lollapalooza too."

And they're like, "Oh yeah, cool, cool, whatever."

But then the time comes and I'm watching Lollapalooza. Someone from Spotify had an extra wristband, so I was able to watch front of house. I'm watching with these people from Warner and Spotify -- these important like, or to me anyway, industry executives that I'm trying to impress.

Lolo's new video just came out: 007. Even suits are impressed.

And we watched the show, and it was the first time I ever saw Green Day because I never got to see them earlier. My mom was not sending me to a Green Day concert by myself, and she was not going with me.

Finally, I'm seeing them. The show was incredible. I was like, literally, jaw dropped. I had the best time.

Green Day, Echoplex, Los Angeles, 4/18/24

LØLØ: I've now seen them four times. They were all amazing. I saw them right before they did the Savior's tour, they did like a pop up show at the Echoplex.

Bree Wilde: It was like a last minute thing?

LØLØ: Yes. I literally messaged every single person the music industry that I know, like, what do I have to do?

And I somehow got to go to the concert and watch that. And so that was so cool, because it was like 500 people, and it was like all of the industry people were at the back.

And people that I know messaged me being like, "we're by the bar."

I'm like, "oh, I got a spot in the pit. I'm not moving."

Another new Lolo song, "me with no shirt on."

I'm like, literally dripping sweat, jumping up and down. There was like, a few people that were like, "are you Lolo?"

And they were like, my fans too. I'm like, jumping up and down with them. We're dancing. I'm like, deep in the pit, right at the front. So that was such a cool experience.

Europe! You get to hear Lolo's new album first. She will be playing all over the UK and EU in support of god forbid a girl spits out her feelings. Tickets go on general sale January 23rd at 10AM GMT, with an artist presale available here.
