Cage The Elephant Performs 20 Songs for First Show of 2021

Grammy-winning rockers Cage The Elephant played a 20-song show on the evening of Saturday, January 30th from Blackbird Studios in Nashville. The full-band set was a benefit for Breads & Roses, a nonprofit arts organization that produces free, live music for the Bay Area.

The setlist was split fairly evenly amongst their three most recent albums, Melophobia, Social Cues and Tell Me I'm Pretty.

The rockers opened the show with a lesser played track, "Broken Boy" a track they reimagined with vocals from Iggy Pop at the top of 2020.

A batch of lesser played tracks commenced six songs in, "Ready To Let Go" the Social Cues title track and "Tokyo Smoke."

Mid-set, Cage busted out another rarity, "Skin and Bones" before their #1 most-performed song, tawngy earworm "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked."

The only two songs from Thank You, Happy Birthday got slotted in at the end of Cage's set, "Shake Me Down" and set closer "Sabertooth Tiger."

Although we appreciate the music in whatever form we can get, we're so, so eager to see frontman Matt Shultz get back to crowd walking and set climbing again! Not an audience-less feat.
