The Saturday after Avatar released their ninth studio album, Dance Devil Dance, they kicked off tour at Manchester Academy 1 in England. The Swedes served up an 18 song setlist with three live debuts.
Avatar opened the set with the title track and tour's namesake, a track that got it's first-ever performance at last year's Hell and Heaven Fest in Mexico.
"Chimp Mosh Pit" was the first live debut of the evening, followed by "Scream Until You Wake" from 2020's Hunter Gatherer - which included a note that this was the first time the track was performed for a full live audience.
Mid-set saw the live debut of "Do You Feel In Control" and Johannes took to the piano for "Tower." They closed the main set with "Statue of a King."
The three-song encore began with the live debut of "The Dirt I'm Buried In" and followed with their two most-performed songs to date, "Smells Like a Freakshow" and "Hail the Apocalypse."
