Linkin Park Begins the From Zero World Tour in Mexico

GNP Seguros Stadium came alive last week with the sounds of Linkin Park, your favorite rap-rock heroes in a new era of experimentation. With new frontwoman Emily Armstrong at the microphone, the group kicked off their From Zero World tour with a 25-song setlist that stunned from start to finish.

This is one of the most anticipated rock tours of 2025, as Linkin Park re-emerged last year from a seven-year hiatus. With Armstrong joining as lead singer after Chester Bennington’s tragic death in 2017, and co-founder Mike Shinoda returning to his rightful place as a rap-rock mastermind, it continues to be a bittersweet occasion for longtime fans. However, the show in Mexico proved that Linkin Park is in a new type of prime.

Beginning the set with old favorites like “Somewhere I Belong,” “Crawling,” and “New Divide,” the band paid tribute to Bennington’s songs that inspired an entire generation of outcasts. Linkin Park’s music has long been famous for its themes of isolation, mental health, and struggling with personal demons…and needless to say, more than a few tears were shed throughout the night.

Armstrong’s husky voice sounded incredible on these classics as she gave them her own spin, before launching into new singles from Linkin Park’s eighth album, From Zero. Released last year after a long break, fans have fallen in love with tracks like “The Emptiness Machine,” “Heavy Is the Crown,” “Over Each Other” and “Two Faced.” All of which were performed at certain points throughout the night in Mexico.

This Linkin Park concert was broken up into four acts and one encore — with each containing a solid mix of 2000s hits, modern singles, and even a few live debuts. The band performed “Good Things Go” and “Overflow” for the first time, plus a hybrid version of “Lost” where Armstrong and Shinoda split vocal duties. This dynamic has long been a staple of Linkin Park songs, and fans followed along to every angsty vocal chorus and hard-hitting rap verse. Rinse and repeat.

What could we possibly say about Linkin Park to showcase their legacy? The SoCal band has been a rock radio staple since 2000, when they emerged onto the scene with Hybrid Theory and introduced a new genre of rap metal and unapologetic angst. The rock scene struggled immensely after Bennington’s untimely passing, and most agree that such a talented musician could never be replaced.

That being said, Linkin Park has worked hard to reignite their career while still honoring his legacy. As thousands of Mexican fans sang along to hits like “Castle of Glass,” “One Step Closer,” “Numb,” “In the End” and more, one thing was made clear: Linkin Park is simply iconic. And as they performed an encore including “Papercut,” “A Place for My Head” and “Bleed It Out,” nobody wanted it to end.

The good news? They’ll still be touring throughout most of 2025! Linkin Park will stop in Europe and Asia in the coming months before making their way to the US in the fall, and there’s still time to get tickets for the From Zero tour. In the meantime, check out the full Mexico setlist here.
