TGIFF - Thank God It's Festival Friday. We're back with another list of festivals that you probably should look into and maybe make plans to attend? We get it, festivals are a WHOLE thing, but our Festival Friday guide will help you stay in tune with the ones that are doable and worthwhile. Scan our weekly list of festivals that have some killer bands playing, take notes, and plan out your outfits (festival fashion tips not included.)

Kaaboo

In the beautiful seaside town of Del Mar, California, you'll find an idyllic music festival on the weekend of September 14-16. The late summertime festival celebrates music, art, comedy, and cuisine. The headlining acts are some of the biggest names out there, including: Foo Fighters, Katy Perry, Imagine Dragons, Robert Plant, N.E.R.D., Incubus, and much more. This festival is for those who are bored of "traditional festivals" but still crave the music aspect of it. So pack your swimsuit and sun hats and get ready for an "adult escape." Grandoozy

California too much of a trek for you? Not to fret, the same weekend of Kaaboo is another very cool fest happening in Denver, Colorado at Overland Park. Grandoozy is a new fest from the co-creators of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands. This will be their first year, finally putting Denver on the music festival map. The line up is stacked, especially for a first timer. Attending will mean you'll get to see Florence and the Machine, Stevie Wonder, Kendrick Lamar, The Chainsmokers, St. Vincent, Kevin Morby among others, not to mention some lovely Rocky Mountains! The festival may be brand new, but the artists playing are festival-pros, making this one promising weekend. Check out more info about the fest and tickets on their website.

Granfalloon: A Kurt Vonnegut Convergence

The Arts & Humanities Council at Indiana University in Bloomington is hosting a conference celebrating Kurt Vonnegut May 11-12. And yes, this IS related to music. As part of the celebration, there will be a number of musical performances from the likes of Father John Misty, Oh Sees, Damien Jurado, Shabazz Palaces, Baths, Waxahatchee, Amy O, Noname, Voces Novae and Rodeola. The event is described on their website as “a truly unique event—part symposium, part exhibit, part performance, and part music,” which retains Vonnegut’s spirit of “blending genres and challenging artistic boundaries.” So if you're looking for a little enlightenment with your festival experience, head to this website for passes and the full schedule.

NOS Primavera Sound

The Porto, Portugal chapter of Primavera Sound is back this year for another gorgeous festival right along the Atlantic ocean. The Porto edition is more low-key than the Barcelona one, but the performers are just as impressionable. The fest has announced its line-up and it's major. Festival goers who are lucky enough to find themselves in this beautiful country on June 7-9 will enjoy sets by Lorde, Jamie XX, Tyler The Creator, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and so many more legends. Keep up-to-date with news on the fest on their website, and if you're trying to plan an epic summer trip over seas, by personal experience I can highly suggest adding this one to your travel plans.
