Lorde Performs Unreleased Song During Tour Kick Off

New Zealand singer Lorde kicked off the North American leg of her tour Thursday night in Milwaukee. The Melodrama World tour is in support of the singers second studio album, Melodrama. While performing at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, Lorde covered Frank Ocean’sSolo" and performed an unreleased song.

The Grammy-winning singer posted on her Instagram story without naming the track, “I may or may not have dug up a song that we wrote during the Melodrama sessions that didn’t make it. One that I really love."

Her 21-song setlist consisted of tracks from her game-changing 2013 debut album, Pure Heroine and of course, Melodrama. Not only did the pop-star cover “Magnets,” by Disclosure (like we predicted she would in our Setlist Psychic), but she also gave fans an extra treat when she performed a powerful cover of Ocean's “Solo.”

This arena pop-show was simple but satisfying. Lorde utilized flashy lights and did a couple of costume changes but nothing dramatic. She is also known for doing contemporary dance routines during her set which she flawlessly delivered.

During the “Green Light” finale, six dancers climbed rope ladders and performed in the air, as Lorde danced below them to the infectious song. After that, she returned on stage for an encore where she performed unreleased song, “Precious Metals.”

Lorde continues her arena tour tonight at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, tickets are still availible. For more information on the Melodrama World tour visit https://lorde.co.nz.
