Foals "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost" Tour Highlights

Brit rockers Foals just released their fifth album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1, on March 8th. The album is the first part of a two-piece project which will be supplemented by Part 2, their sixth album, in the fall.
In regards to the evolution of the new album, frontman Yannis Philippakis told NME:
“There’s a cockiness in feeling like we can put our hand to a variety of ways of expressing what we want, while still in some way being identifiably Foals. There’s a freedom in that. The fan base is one that’s grown with us. They expect these jumps and expect something new.”
To support the release, the skilled, guitar-centric rock band has embarked on a tour that started in Europe and will head over to North America this weekend. Let's dive into all the best parts of Foals' 2019 tour so far!
Line-up change -
After the departure of bassist Walter Gervers, the band has brought along Everything Everything bassist Jeremy Pritchard as a live member for their 2019 dates.

Live debuts -
On their kickoff show March 4th at the Gorilla in Manchester, Foals started their tour with a handful of live debut's before their new album was officially released. They gave fans a taste of "On the Luna," "Exits," "Syrups," "Sunday," "In Degrees," and "White Onions."

The setlist -
This tour is heavily highlighting their new album and sound. The setlist carries all the aforementioned new songs, and then mixes in few cuts from their last two albums, including Holy Fire's "My Number" and an explosive performance of "Inhaler."
They also bring in some of the older favorites that established Foals in the indie world like Antidotes' "Red Socks Pugie," "Two Steps, Twice" and "Olympic Airways." Other favorites they include are one or two Total Life Forever goodies like "Spanish Sahara" and "Black Gold."

Live performance -
As usual, Foals never falter in putting on one helluva performance, where both the band and everyone in the audience can't help but move, groove and dance the whole way through. Their energy permeates through the venue, making for one sweat-infused night.
Philippakis makes sure there's never a dull moment as his stage antics get the crowd rowdy, whether he's stage diving, playing in the crowd, or even atop a bar toward the end of the show. Strobe lights aid in the dramatic intensity of the night.
Watch him jumping from a balcony at their show in Edinburgh in a fan-caught video, below!

The band will return to Europe and the UK this summer. They kick off their North American tour on March 16th in Mexico! See all those tour dates and more below, and don't miss out on the extravaganza that is a Foals gig!
