On This Day in 2011, Panic! at the Disco Live Debut "Ready to Go"

Las Vegas-native pop-punk rockers Panic! at the Disco are currently one of the biggest bands of the modern rock scene and even in 2011, the band were on top of their game celebrating the release of their highly-acclaimed third album with a monumental performance at SXSW.

By their third album Vices & Virtues, Brenden Urie & Co., were about to kick off their third headlining tour. Their first stop? The famed Stubb's Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas where the band performed their first SXSW showcase that featured a live debut of the album's second single "Ready to Go (Get Me Out of My Mind)."

“It’s one of our favorite tracks from the record,” Urie explained in a 2011 interview. “I really like this song. I think it showcases something from our band that we’ve never done before."

Most fans of Panic! at the Disco can instantly hear building harmonies and toe-tapping beats blasting by the mere mention of this track. The playful tune paints the night of a neon city with its eccentric melodies and sonic drum beats.

Urie revealed that even though they are accustomed to touring, playing for newer audiences never gets old:

"But something we do strive for is playing for newer audiences, people who haven't really heard our band or haven't seen us live, we love doing that and playing festivals we never have before. That's something we've done recently too, being able to play festivals like SXSW and all these other great things. It's just really cool to go to countries and play festivals for people who don't really know your band or don't ever get to see it."

For those lucky enough to attend their 2011 spring tour opening date at SXSW, Panic! at the Disco performed at 12-track setlist that left fans more than satisfied. The setlist was comprised of tracks from their Vices and Virtues release before splitting into tracks from their two previous albums: Pretty Odd and A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. Tracks included: "Nine in the Afternoon," "I Write Sins Not Tragedies," "The Ballad of Mona Lisa," "Mad as Rabbits," "Camisado" and more
