Arctic Monkeys Live Debuted “R U Mine?” This Day in 2012

English rock band Arctic Monkeys are known for recording music of a variety of genres. From their first debut album in 2006, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, classifying as garage punk with detail-rich lyrics to some of their newer, laid back and groovy music, the band has done it all.
After forming in 2002, current members Alex Turner, Matt Helders, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley and Glyn Jones continue to bring fans music full of heart, and even sometimes heartbreak, live.
On March 3, 2012, Arctic Monkeys stepped on stage at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan to perform a 15-song set. This set included a live debut of their song “R U Mine?”
This track was originally released as a single in 2012 and soon became part of their 2013 album AM. This record was their 5th studio album and consisted of 12 songs including “R U Mine?”
Apart from this live debut, the band played songs off of their albums Favourtie Worst Nightmare, Suck It and See, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not and Humbug. Some of their biggest hits came off of these albums and were performed at this show including “Fluorescent Adolescent” and “When the Sun Goes Down.”

Today, “R U Mine?” is in the band's top 20 most-performed songs to date being performed around 300 times since its live debut.
Arctic Monkeys is not currently on tour and has not released new music since 2018 with their album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. This means we are just going to have to hold out hope that they will be back and better than ever soon enough!
