Flogging Molly Play 16-Song Set at 2001 St. Patrick's Day Show

Irish-American punk band Flogging Molly are known for their distinct Celtic-punk style and energetic performances. The band will be making several appearances at various festivals this summer, including Bonnaroo Festival, Malakoff Rock Festival, Deichbrand Festival and Barna ‘n’ Roll Festival.

Unfortunately, they had to cancel their West Coast March 2020 tour, including this year's St. Patrick's Day show at the Hollywood Palladium.

So in honor of St. Patrick's Day, we're digging back in FM's archives to look back at one of their annual St. Patty's shows from 2001, when they performed a show at Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, California. The 16-song setlist mostly featured tracks from the band’s notable 2000 debut studio album, Swagger. Eleven songs from this record dominated the setlist, including “Black Friday Rule,” “Devil’s Dance Floor,” “Every Dog Has Its Day,” “Life in a Tenement Square,” “Salty Dog” and “Selfish Man.”

Three songs from Drunk Lullabies, which was released as an album later in 2002, sneaked its way into the setlist, too: “Death Valley Queen,” “Rebels of the Sacred Heart” and “Swagger.”

They also included two covers of “Delilah” by Tom Jones and Ewan MacColl’s “Dirty Old Town.”

Flash forward to St. Patrick's Day 2020 and we're in quarantine, but that didn't stop Dave King and Bridget Regan from posting a special holiday video. Check it out:
