RIP Bill Rieflin - He Last Played with King Crimson on 2019 Tour

The music community is mourning the loss of legendary drummer and musician Bill Rieflin, who passed away yesterday at age 59 after an eight-year battle with cancer.
Rieflin has had a full career being a drummer and multi-instrumentalist performing in a variety of musical groups including King Crimson, R.E.M. and Ministry.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Rieflin’s family made a statement saying,
“Seattle native and life-long resident, Bill was a world-class musician who was at home on the drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards. He was also an accomplished composer and producer who possessed a sophisticated ear, a depth of rare talent and complete dedication to his craft,”
Rieflin had most recently been a member of the band King Crimson, last touring with them in 2019. Founder of the band, Robert Fripp posted a statement on Facebook saying,
“Fly well, Brother Bill! My life is immeasurably richer for knowing you.”
King Crimson’s last show was on October 13, 2019, in Santiago, Chile at the Movistar Arena. This was the final performance of their “2019 Celebration Tour.”
Rieflin and the rest of the band played a two-set show consisting of 20 songs. King Crimson opened their show with “Hell Hounds of Krim” off of their album Radical Action to Unseat the Hold of Monkey Mind.
For their first set, they weaved in hits such as "The ConstruKction of Light," "Epitaph" and “Larks’ Tongues in Aspic, Part Two.” While during their second set they performed songs such as “Starless,” “Cat Food” and "Easy Money."
The band also brought out Cadenzas during their first set when they performed “Moonchild.”
King Crimson closed their show and Bill Rieflin’s last performance with them with their song “21st Century Schizoid Man.”
