The Strokes Kickoff 2020 West Coast March Run with 16 Songs!

The Strokes are embarking on a brief run of North American shows this month. The first of the three shows kicked off last night (March 5) in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the Rogers Arena. They’ll be hitting two other cities on the west coast for their March North American run, including Seattle, Washington, on March 9 and Los Angeles, California on March 14. Select shows will be supported by acts like King Princess and Alvvays.

We’re greatly anticipating their sixth studio album, The New Abnormal, which is slated for release sometime this year. Frontman Julian Casablancas excitedly announced the news at the band’s New Year’s Eve show in Brooklyn, New York. In anticipation of their forthcoming release, the guys also have a busy summer ahead of them with a number of festival appearances. They fired off the opening show with their feverish new single “Bad Decisions,” which was released in February. The Strokes also performed another staple from their new album, “The Adults Are Talking,” which debuted at a charity show last May. The 16-song setlist was mostly dominated by tracks from the Is This It album, which contains many of the crucial hits. Fans passionately sang along to performances of “Barely Legal,” “Hard to Explain,” “Someday” and “Take It or Leave It.”
Other classics included “Ize of the World,” “You Only Live Once,” “Automatic Stop,” “Juicebox” and “The End Has No End,” which before 2020, hadn't been on a setlist since 2014. Hopefully, this means it’ll have a permanent home in future setlists!

They closed the main set with the classic “Reptilia,” before transitioning into a three encore performance of “Soma,” “Juicebox” and “Last Nite.” The sprightly guitar riffs and raspy vocal cords made for an energetic night for fans.
