Thundercat Playing New Tracks + 16 Song Sets on 2020 Winter Tour!

The feline, the myth, the legend, Thundercat, hit the road this past week for his winter 2020 tour in support of his upcoming new album drop, It Is What It Is, out April 3rd.

The tour made it's way down to California over the weekend, hitting up Oakland, Los Angeles and Orange County. He's been performing mostly 16-song sets, with the exception of his kickoff show in Vancouver, BC on February 28th where he performed a whopping 20 songs!

Thundercat has been opening up his shows with brand new song "Great Scott 22-26." When the rhythm master walks out onto the stage with his keyboardist and drummer, the lights and visuals immediately warp the crowd into a different dimension.

Psychedelic cartoons and mesmerizing visuals behind the band aren't enough to distract from the main attraction, however. It's hard to look away from Thundercat, donned out in a glittery coat and gorgeous blonde braids, as he shreds on his six-string bass guitar.

He performed plenty of favorites from his last album, Drunk, including "Captain Stupido," "Jethro" and "Friend Zone," mixed with songs off of Apocalypse like "Tron Song" and "Heartbreaks + Setbacks."

But, as mentioned, a lot of the setlist was made up of new songs. Thundercat performed "Dragonball Durag" with the music video (which features Haim and Kali Uchis) projecting on the back screen.

Other new songs he treats fans to include "Unrequited Love," "I Love Louis Cole," "How Sway," "Funny Thing," and much more. He ends the main set with one of his biggest hits, "Them Changes." During his Los Angeles gig on March 7th at the Wiltern, He encored his new song "Black Quails" with the help of his friends Flying Lotus, Steve Lacy and Steve Arrington.
