Brandi Carlile Shares The Stage w/ R&B Singer Monica at the Ryman

Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile performed a special livestream set to fundraise for the Rainey Day Fund, Color Me Country Artist Fund, and Nashville’s Fanny’s School of Music on March 28th at the Ryman Auditorium. The special performance was played for a limited-capacity of vaccinated (socially distanced and masked) fans via ticket lottery as well as streamed online.
Fittingly so, the 19-song setlist at 'Mother Church' kicked off with a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah," followed by "Raise Hell" from Brandi Carlile's fourth studio album Bear Creek. Additional covers like Elton John's "Madman Across the Water," Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You," and John Newton's "Amazing Grace" also landed on the setlist.
Fans were treated to a special appearance from R&B star Monica for a joint performance from the singers during Tanya Tucker's "The Wheels of Laredo" and "Crowded Table" from Brandi Carlile's group The Highwomen. Watch a fan-filmed video of the performance:

Brandi Carlie commented on the performance via her Instagram:
“Love and gratitude to my new best friend [Monica]! What a feeling! It’s hard to describe what it felt like to be with you all last night…I mean everyone. Those of you at home and those of you in that room. So much love…I have to laugh, or I’d cry… all this is to say- thank you, my friends.”
The Ryman Auditorium event is still available for streaming until April 11, 2021. Get your tickets on Veeps.
