Nickel Creek Performs 42 Songs for LiveCreek Live Stream

Americana trio Nickel Creek wrapped up their two-part livestream series this weekend. Dubbed "Nickle Stream: A LiveCreek Experience" it was the band's first shows together since 2019. Streaming platform Mandolin hosted the first gig on Sunday, February 21 and the second on Sunday, February 28. The band performed at Secret Garden Studios in Santa Barbara, California. Let's dig into some setlist highlights!

The meat of each set was the band working through their breakout eponymous album, but on the the first night of the stream, six songs came from NC's 2005 album Why Should The Fire Die? including set-opener "When In Rome." The first portion of the set also included their most-performed track to date, "The Smoothie Song" and a cover of Irish folk band Planxty's "Time Will Cure Me" (written on the setlist as "Sabra Girl.")

The post-show request session was made up of five songs, including a snippet of The Jayhawk's "Save It For a Rainy Day."
