On St. Patrick's Eve, 1987, Japanese Duran Duran fans were treated to the kickoff of the eagerly anticipated Strange Behaviour Tour.
After enormous success in the early '80s, the stylish UK heartthrobs split off into two brief side projects.
Singer Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, and drummer Roger Taylor formed Arcadia; while bassist John Taylor and guitarist Andy Taylor joined up with singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson to make The Power Station.
Once those shenanigans shook out, the band tried to regroup but Andy Taylor wanted to have a solo career and Roger was flat out exhausted.
The three remaining Duranies soldiered on, and thanks to the production help of another member of Chic, Nile Rodgers, Notorious was created.
Named after the Alfred Hitchcock thriller, the album would go on to reach #12 on the US charts but a disappointing #16 in the UK. Fans, however, were more than happy to have the band back and playing live again.

The tour kickoff at the Fukuoka Shimin Kaikan arena was top-loaded with seven songs from the new album, all live debuts, highlighted by "The Skin Trade," and the title track.

Both songs would remain staples in the setlist of the band for years to come.
Sandwiched in the middle of the new tunes and the hits, the rejiggered Duranies, now with guitarist Warren Cuccurullo (formerly of Missing Persons) and drummer Steve Ferrone (who would later become one of Tom Petty's Heartbreakers), including both a Power Station and Arcadia single in the set.

The second half of the show, beginning with the 12th song, "The Chauffeur," concluding with "The Reflex" were all smash hits from their earlier days.
