Disturbed Begins Anniversary Tour with Deep Cuts & A Live Debut

Disturbed is officially on the road for The Sickness 25th anniversary tour, and Idaho got the full taste of their epic new setlist! Playing 20 songs including their debut album, 2000’s The Sickness, in its entirety, the group proved throughout the night while they remain metal mainstays over two decades later.

When they announced this Disturbed tour last fall, they laid out the plan in full — play one set in honor of The Sickness, and another as a tribute to their broader greatest hits. And David Draiman and Co. came out swinging with the first. They celebrated their debut with songs like “Voices,” “The Game,” and “Down With the Sickness,” even playing “Violence Fetish” for the first time in a decade.

Just how important is The Sickness to Disturbed and their artistry? The album was certified five times platinum by the RIAA, spent 106 weeks on the US Billboard 200 chart, and was named as one of the "Top 25 Debut Hard Rock Albums” by Revolver. Simply put, the Chicago band would not be the metal heavyweights they are today without this iconic album. And therefore, they knew this anniversary tour needed to commemorate The Sickness with flair.

On that note, the deep cuts kept coming throughout the night! Disturbed performed “Numb” again after two decades, while fans were treated to “Conflict” for the first time since 2003. After concluding with “Shout,” a Tears for Fears cover, and “Meaning of Life,” it was time to say goodbye to The Sickness (at least for the evening) and dive into the best Disturbed songs from the 2000s. And the Idaho crowd couldn’t get enough.

Disturbed kicked off with a live debut of “I Will Not Break, their latest single off their as-yet-unannounced ninth record. And paired with tracks like “Ten Thousand Fists” and “Bad Man,” plus several song covers, it was a diverse mix of Disturbed’s past, present, and future. They ended the night with “The Light” and “Inside the Fire,” both serving as a reminder that this band is one of the best in the metal scene.

Between Draiman’s famous baritone voice and their crushing riffs that have inspired a new generation of hard rock fans, you can’t argue with the legacy of Disturbed. Their 25th anniversary tour is continuing throughout the US in the coming weeks, while you can check out the full Idaho setlist here.
