Luke Combs Breaks Nevada Attendance Record in Tour Kick Off

Don't worry where he's been, he's back in the saddle again.

Luke Combs opened his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour on Saturday (3/21) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in a show that not only delivered several live debuts, but also broke a huge record.

With 70,921 paying customers, the show at the home of the Las Vegas Raiders became the largest indoor crowd for any event in Nevada history.

The show with openers Dierks Bently, Ty Myers and Thelma & James beat last September's boxing match between Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford (70,482), 2024's wild overtime Super Bowl game between KC vs SF (61,629), and even last year's Wrestlemania at Allegiant Stadium.

The way he set up the stage to make more fans accessible to the floor at the beautifully modern football palace helped him beat the attendance for concerts headlined by Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, BTS, and Metallica.

Of his 28-song set, Combs, who turned 36 earlier this month, live debuted a trio of tunes from his new LP, My Kinda Saturday Night: “Tell ’Em About Tonight,” “Sleepless in a Hotel Room,” and “Be By You.”

“Sleepless in a Hotel Room” debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart and its official music video has over 3 million views on YouTube.

One thing Combs has been doing in his sets, going back to 2019, is playing a little medley of covers in the middle of his set. Starting at Stagecoach last year he played “Someone You Loved” (Lewis Capaldi), “A Thousand Miles” (Vanessa Carlton), “Seven Nation Army” (The White Stripes), “Sultans of Swing” (Dire Straits), “Gimme Three Steps” (Lynyrd Skynyrd).

In Vegas the medley was “Crazy Train” (Ozzy Osbourne), “She Will Be Loved” (Maroon 5), “Billie Jean” (Michael Jackson), “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” (Aerosmith), “Something Like That” (Tim McGraw).

While he was in town, Combs took a hard hat tour of his forthcoming entertainment venue, Category 10 Las Vegas, which will be housed at the Flamingo.

Named after his #1 hit song "Hurricane," which was the third song in the set on Saturday, the venue is scheduled to open in October and will be his second joint. The first is in Nashville and the third will open in 2027 in Orlando.

The official video of "Hurricane" has over 400 million views.

“I care a lot about this, it has my name on it and so I feel responsible for what happens when you walk in those doors," he said.

Category 10 Vegas will have several bars, a music stage, places to eat and look out onto the strip. And ladies, Luke has something special for you: The Beautiful Crazy Women’s Lounge. Situated inside the first floor ladies room will be a champagne bar with makeup counters for touch ups and selfies.

What will Category 10 look like in Vegas later this year? Check out how beautiful the original one is in Nashville for a taste.

Luke will be spending a bunch more Saturday nights in stadiums around North America starting next month through June.

Then he heads to Europe including two nights at Slane Castle and three at Wembley Stadium. Get your tix on his website.
