It's weird enough that there are subjective competitions for artists in movies, TV shows, and musical recordings, should we really pit one award show against the other?
If we did, this year the Brit Awards might have just beaten The Grammys in the category of Best Musical Performances in a Musical Award Show.
On Saturday (2/28) big name stars such as Alex Warren, HUNTR/X (EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI), Harry Styles, Mark Ronson, Olivia Dean, RAYE, Rosalía, Sombr, and Wolf Alice, took to the stage at the BRITs and many of them wowed the audience in person and at home.

And like at this year's Grammys across the pond, there was an Ozzy Osbourne tribute. But there was something very special about the presentation, musical quality, and vibe happening in Manchester, England that the Recording Academy show in LA missed.
Here are a few of the ones that really stood out and did so in a way the Grammys should take note of.
Wolf Alice, "Sofa"
Of the many differences between the BRITs and the Grammys is the BRITs category of Group of the Year. The Grammys has something similar: Best Duo or Group Performance. But often the award favors duos over groups. Grammys in the past have gone to the likes of Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga (2012), Bradley Cooper & Lady Gaga (2019), Ariana Grande & Lady Gaga (2021), and Bruno Mars & Lady Gaga (2025).
Seemingly bands don't stand a chance, especially if Mother Monster is in the running.
That isn't the case at the BRITs where this year the nominees for Group of the Year were Wolf Alice, Pulp, Sleep Token, The Last Dinner Party, and Wet Leg.
Wolf Alice not only won, but performed "The Sofa" in such a way that it could easily be their new music video for the cool song off last year's The Clearing.
The Clearing Tour rolls on next at Wembley Arena and then the Royal Albert Hall, go to their website for tix.
Robbie Williams, "No More Tears"
One of the best films from late 2024 was the extremely creative and oftentimes touching Robbie Williams biopic Better Man which showed how the singer was often down for whatever, a trait not uncommon among frontmen.
Alongside Zakk Wylde, Robert Trujillo, Adam Wakeman and Tommy Clufetos, Williams strained to belt out the title track of Ozzy's sixth solo album, a single that came out a week after "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

Unlike the majority of metal and hard rock that withered in the wake of Nirvana's breakthrough hit "No More Tears" endured in part due to Wylde's heavy riffage and sweet solo.
Saturday that guitar shined much brighter than Williams' vocals, which is more a testament to Ozzy's often underrated talents than a diss to Robbie, who sure gave it a solid try.
Williams' Britpop Tour hits Germany and the rest of Europe and then South America beginning in June. Get tix on his site.
Mark Ronson, Dua Lipa and Ghostface Killa
What was probably a segment intended to celebrate the embarrassment of riches Mark Ronson brings to the table when he has produced stars like Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish, turned into an 7+ minute medley where one artist after another had the crowd saying, "damn."
It kicked off with Ghostface Killa, whose rhymes flowed easily and quickly, making you realize just how deep the Wu Tang bench is.

It then moved to Winehouse's former background singers, Zalon Thompson and his brother Heshima Thompson who fronted members of The Dap-Kings with such a joyful presence which was contagious.
Then, the angelic Dua Lipa descended from atop a giant disco ball in a fur coat like every bit the pop queen she is singing the equally euphoric "Dance the Night" into "Electricity" so casually you wonder why she isn't the biggest star in the world.
Rosalía & Björk "Berghain"
The BRIT performances were inspiring in that it showcased how many contemporary artists, particularly those of the fairer sex, are ridiculously talented and we should be counting our blessings they have such good songs to perform - as that is not always the case.
Another in that seemingly never ending list was Rosalía who was dramatic and fascinating and spectacular on her own, but then Björk just took it to another level.
The last time Björk graced a stage at an awards show was in 2001, and she hadn't rocked the Brit Awards since 1994.
Not only does she still has all the vocal qualities we love, what a crazybeautiful outfit she work.
Rosalia's tour is in Europe right now and comes to the US later in the year. Grab tix off her site.
RAYE, "Where Is My Husband" & "Nightingale Lane"
RAYE came out with her big band and singers and strings and stunned a sizzling version of "Where Is My Husband" featuring several tempo changes, a little speed rapping to get it going, and dare we say a hint of Winehouse magic and then R&B flourish with "Nightingale Lane."
Both songs are from her forthcoming LP, This Music May Contain Hope, which drops later this month.
Raye has two more shows in Europe then sails to the States for a spring tour that includes a stop at Radio City and two shows at The Greek in LA. Get tix on her website.
