Lorde's North American "Melodrama" Tour Wrap

Lorde has come a long way since we first wrote about the beginning of her tour back in March. She played her last North American show on Sunday evening (April 15) in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena where she delivered a strong and emotional performance.

Her entire tour has been received highly as fans have walked away gratified and starry-eyed. Lorde visited a lot of cities she hadn't in a while, showing them her evolving self-identity. The New Zealander went to Florida for the first time, which she described as "beautiful" and "dreamy," and made thousands of concert-goers swoon over her chaotic dance moves and a stacked setlist that featured a heartfelt cover of Frank Ocean's "Solo" for both nights. She covered plenty of other hot tracks throughout her tour to make each show special, including "New York" by St. Vincent in Brooklyn and Drake's "Shot For Me" in Toronto. Lorde's openers, Run The Jewels, Tove Lo, and Mitski, warmed the crowd up each night with memorable performances, picking up new fans along the way.

The young pop singer's last show in Nashville ended in star-shaped confetti and deafening cheers. Her shows were set in a moody lighting and her dancers moved in and out of a transparent box, making the visuals just as ethereal as the sounds. She weaved in songs like “Buzzcut Season” and “Tennis Court” from her first album Pure Heroine into her matured songs off Melodrama. Each show closed out with a snowball of bangers, in Nashville she jammed out "Royals," "Perfect Places" and "Green Light." Her encore started off with a soulful cover of Patsy Cline's "Leaving' On Your Mind," backed only by a guitar.

This tour showed all of North America how much Lorde has come out of her shell and into her own, and her ever-growing talents have fans wondering when she'll be back.
