On the heels of the film premiere of Distant Sky - Nick Cave & The Bad Sees Live in Copenhagen, Cave and his band have announced a handful of shows for October. The short run finds them playing large venues and kicks off on October 2 in Mexico City, Mexico. The seven-man lineup for this tour will feature vocalist-pianist Cave, violinist-multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis, bassist Martyn Casey, drummer Thomas Wylder, percussionist Jim Sclavunos, guitarist George Vjestica and keyboardist Larry Mullins.
The tour is still in support of 2016's Skeleton Tree, which was recorded after the tragic death of Cave's 15-year-old son Arthur in 2015. While there's been no new singles released by the band since, Cave currently worked on a soundtrack with bandmate Warren Ellis to the Halle Berry drama Kings. He also revealed last year that he's been writing songs for the upcoming 17th Bad Seeds record, which will complete a musical trilogy the band began with Push the Sky Away.
The famous Australian rocker will side-step traditional press by going on an unconventional tour in May, where he'll be taking questions from fans and possibly performing some songs, whatever he ultimately feels like. "The audience can ask me anything and I'll do my best to answer," the songwriter said in a statement. "I do have some things to say. I can always play some songs at the piano if all goes horribly wrong. But, I don't know, I've got a good feeling about this one."
