Soul pop singer Bishop Briggs made fans all kinds of happy yesterday, as she released her new single, “White Flag,” and announced a release date for her first full length album. And get this—we don’t have to wait very long, because “Church of Scars” drops April 20th!
Briggs first debuted “White Flag” last November at her show at Terminal 5 in NYC, while opening for Bleachers.
She’s played the track live five times since. The gospel-tinged “do something” anthem declares:
Oh, won't wave my white flag, no
This time I won't let go
I'd rather die
Than give up the fight, give up the fight, give up the fight, give up the fight
We believe “White Flag" has a sure spot on the setlist for her upcoming headlining tour, but the acoustic version on Spotify also presents the possibility of this track being played live during the slower, more soul-baring part of the show (assuming there’s going to be one).
The “River” belter will play an album release show on April 19th at the apropos Masonic Lodge in Los Angeles, a venue housed inside the historic Hollywood Forever cemetery. How’s that for ambiance? She then has two in-store appearances scheduled in SoCal before she hits the road on April 27th. The tour officially kicks off at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver.
