Well before British indie-pop band Bastille released their debut album Bad Blood, the four-piece performed an 11-track setlist that gave fans a taste of what was to come ahead of its release. The performance took place on this day, April 10th, seven years ago, 2012, at The Horn, an intimate venue in St. Albans, England.
The gig had the band performing 11/13 tracks off Bad Blood. Some of the songs had already been released on 7"'s and EPs, so fans already knew most of the songs like opening track "Icarus," "Overjoyed," "Laura Palmer," and set closer "Flaws."
But that night, Bastille introduced the crowd to three brand new licks: "These Streets," and Bad Blood's lead singles "Pompeii" and "Bad Blood." Fans were chanting along to the chorus for songs like "Overjoyed," a foreshadowing of how much love the band would accrue after they actually did release that debut album.

Seven years and two studio albums later, Bad Blood still holds up as the band's most performed material in a live setting, with seven tracks off the album ranking as the top most performed songs. "Pompeii" and "Bad Blood" are in the top three!
Bastille's third studio album Doom Days is expected to drop sometime this year. It's the follow up to 2016's Wild World and highly anticipated. Frontman Dan Smith revealed in December that while the forthcoming release is still a work in progress, the concept is nailed down:
"It's essentially the story of a night, and it's about escapism, and trying to escape problems in your relationships and problems that you see of the world via the TV, and it's about trying to lose yourself in the nighttime in this different space that exist."
In February, Bastille performed a handful of shows that introduced fans to material off the new album, including "Quarter Past Midnight," "4AM," and "Million Pieces."
You can catch the band perform a bunch of festival dates in Europe this spring and summer, check out the dates over on their website!
