Highlights from Ed Sheeran's Divide World Tour in Asia

Since kicking off his Divide World Tour back in early 2017, the British singer-songwriter has tumultuously powered through countless countries and continents around the globe. His 13th leg of tour brought him back to Asia after he was forced to cancel a slew of shows back in 2017 in Taiwan, Seoul, and South Korea due to suffering from arm fractures from a bicycle accident.

Now the "Thinking Out Loud" singer has fully recovered and successfully brought the Divide tour back to Asia! His latest Asian trek has taken Sheeran and his loyal Sheerios, aka his dubbed fanbase, all over the Eastern regions of the world from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia among other countries.

You definitely won't want to be late to miss his Japanese rock band opening act ONE OK ROCK. Even with an opening setlist capped at eight tracks, the band preps and primes audiences before Sheeran ultimately takes over the stadium venue. Even though it is Sheeran's world tour, he even manages to make everyone feel special, even his opening act. During their April 17 show in Hong Kong, China, Sheeran took a moment during his set to sing happy birthday to ONE OK ROCK's lead singer Takahiro Moriuchi.

As many Ed Sheeran fans may already guess, he has continued to keep the same brightly-lit stage set up that washes over audiences with hues of different colors and images of the singer as he performs his 18 to 19-track setlist. Surprisingly enough, Sheeran of course plays mostly all of his tracks with the exception of covering Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself," which he actually wrote for Bieber's Purpose album back in 2015.

Speaking of his setlist, Sheeran does a fantastic job of touching upon each of his three studio albums to complete his wholesome setlist. Each night he opens with ÷ tracks "Castle on the Hill" and "Eraser" before moving into the rest of his set.

While the majority of the songs performed are appropriately from his 2017 ÷ release, Sheeran includes various hits and b-sides from X including "Thinking Out Loud," "Bloodstream,: "Don't," "Photograph," and of course mega chart-topping single "Sing."

For those who wonder if he would play fan-favorites from his 2011 + debut, you are in luck! Apart from the hits like "The A-team," which is his most performed song to date with 603 plays, Sheeran also performs heartstring-tugging tracks "Give Me Love," "Kiss Me," and saves "You Need Me, I Don't Need You" for the final song during the encore.

While everything has appeared to be smooth sailing during his Asian trek, Sheeran was also forced to cancel his April 18 show in Hong Kong due to severe thunderstorms. Thankfully, audiences are continually understanding of factors out of the musician's control. Nevertheless, Sheeran continues to deliver show-stopping sets that leave fans enthralled for the entirety of the evening.

Even during his time when he's not performing for his world tour, Sheeran finds time to join major A-list artists on stage. During singer-songwriter and guitarist John Mayer's latest Asian trek, Sheeran joined Mayer on stage during his stop in Tokyo. The duo performed Mayer's Continuum track "Belief" as well as Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud.

Sheeran is expected to wrap his Asian leg of the Divide World Tour on May 3 in Jakarta, Indonesia, but not to worry because he is still continuing his global trek! After Asia, the singer-songwriter is set for a slew of shows in Europe that will last the majority of the summer kicking off in late May.
